Cassel should be fine for next year, but we still need to be drafting a QB in this years draft just in case it's not going to work out with him. We need to start having a developmental program in place each year and start having guys available that we can count on down the road. Let's not go down the same path that we have done so manny years.

Who knows if Cassel is going to be good or not next year? I just want insurance on him not, and if he is then great. He is going to be 29.

I want to draft a QB just cuz it's something we havn't done much of over the years and it would be nice to have our "own" for a change instead of a retread rehash what ever you want to call him QB. Just for our future sake.

Cassel has shown both good and bad this last year, he had moderate improvement. Congrats that he made the Pro Bowl via alternate. He eaned it by default, lack of other good QBs in the league to take that spot. Good for him he still deserved it. He is a Chief, I support him for now or untill we can do better or he delivers the goods. That doesn't mean I like him or hate him, more indifferent at this time. I want this franchise to develop QBs from the draft. We can do better down the road. This takes time and patience and work put in for this prossess to be successfull.

All it has taken is a small passage of time and the advancement of Sanchez to another CCG to make the Cassel hopefuls, or I as shall now refer to them, "The Loyal Order of GrBono", to COMPLETELY FORGET how absolutely ****ing atrocious he was in his last two games.

Sadness...

Perhaps it is that we look at glass as half full rather than half empty.

He was absolutely atrocious in the last two games. The whole offense looked atrocious the last two games, so I don't know how that is hung exclusively on him.

He also looked darn good in the games prior, starting with the denver loss.

It's odd that people will selectively use only the data that supports the conclusion that they want to come to. I prefer to use the whole season. As a season as whole he did well.

I have more belief in Santa Claus than I do in Matt Cassel. He can't be replaced soon enough.

At this point, outright replacing Cassel would be foolhardy. At the very least, he's proven to be an adequate veteran presence as we work on grooming a very talented n00b to replace him.

Vet + high upside n00b = ideal.

Might was well use Cassel as the vet.

That's what I think as well. I'd see it as a situation like San Diego bringing in Brees or the Packers bringing in Rodgers. This year or next, if somebody slides that we like, why not...

Yes, he was awful in those 2 games.

The sheer thought that he can't rebound from those 2 games and improve is one of the more ridiculous thoughts ever on this board.

Exactly. There's a lot of justified Cassel criticism from really intelligent fans, but the thought that he's worthless to the franchise is far from the truth.

We'll win exactly jack-shit with him in the post season. I know he'll be kept around until he retires because Pioli loves him so, but I have no faith in post-season victory much less Super Bowl victory until this team has a legitimate Quarterback. He is the object of my every football hate and as such, I will enjoy hating him immensely.
Oh well, nothing new to see in KC. Move along people, move along...

The fact that he's Girbac (and can put up a 300-400 yard passing game on occasion) shouldn't overshadow the 70 or 90 yard passing games.

When pressured, behind, and everything looks bad what do YOU do to elevate the team?

In short, that's it.

LEAD THIS TEAM ON THE FIELD.

CONSISTENTLY...
