Hotels near Universal Studios in Orlando
I know most people go to Orlando to go to Disney World, but I'm going to go to Universal Studios. Has anyone stayed near there? I'm looking on hotels.com, reading reviews, etc. Just thought I'd see what you all thought. I am looking to walk most places, if possible.

Been to Vegas. Not really interested in LA. I have an old classmate who lives in Orlando who is a doctor now. I'm meeting her for dinner sometime. I've sent her a message as well asking about hotels.

I would do hotwire.com, but I want to be able to check out where I'm staying before I book it. Although, they have some great deals on 3-star rooms.

Just me, myself, and I. Already have flight, car, 3-day pass to Universal Studios. I'm leaning toward the Holiday Inn Express right now. I'm trying to find the middle ground between nice and affordable. Since I'm by myself, I wouldn't mind having a bar in the hotel. Internet is a MUST, and HIE has complimentary wifi in all rooms.

Orlando isn't much of a 'walking' city. You said you have a car, so plan on driving most places.

Might I suggest the Hilton Garden Inn then.... Free wifi in rooms, better quality of room than HIE, small restaurant and bar downstairs probably not to much more than the HIE.

$44 more per night. I looked at it though. It looks nice, but passed it over for better price.
