Hadn't been paying much attention the past few days, and the Blues deal off two of their D-men.

Let's just say that Armstrong >>>>>>>>>Pleau.

I'm a little disappointed we couldn't have gotten more than a prospect for Brewer, at least we got something for him. If Beukeboom turns out to be half the player his old man was, it's a great deal for us.

I had a sneaking suspicion EJ was out the door for the right price - and I have no ****ing clue what Colorado was thinking, but Stewart and Shattenkirk is definitely the right price. GREAT deal, IMO. Maybe EJ just needed a change of scenery, and if so, then the deal definitely evens up a bit. But the kid just never clicked in STL.

Who's next? Boyes? Jackman?

If Jackman is traded, I'll be pissed. The Blues need a veteran defenseman and he is just that.

What a trade for the Blues...getting Shattenkirk AND Stewart is a homerun.

Wouldn't surprise me if Winchester goes for a pick now.

The Blues have cleared a lot of cap space too...really interested to see what they plan on doing with it.

Army said after the Brewer trade(on an interview, anyways) that the team is focusing on more hockey trades. By that, he said he meant less trades for picks but more for prospects and players. After I listened to it(and it was a few hours before the trade), I wasn't that shocked that EJ was gone.

That means the Blues traded Brewer for guys who may never play an NHL game, which would finally shut the book on a strange series of events that began over 20 years ago.

And that is false. They won the President's cup in '99 and lost in the Western Conference finals against the Avs I think in '01.

Why was Johnson such a disappointment? Was it that golf cart accident, or was it a variety of factors?

Partially that, I think. And he regressed this year. I think he'll be a very good defenseman, but won't live up to the billing of being the first overall pick.
