There's a really good article at http://www.footballoutsiders.com/col...ols-2011-draft corncerning the draft and Rodney Hudson. Some of it is favorable towards Hudson other parts of the story call into question some of his abilities at guard. Here is the favorable part of story -
Undersized for his position (6-2, 291 pounds), with 47 college starts, the two-time Jacobs' Blocking Trophy winner as the ACC's best lineman, Hudson has made up for a few obvious deficits with two impressive skills that will transfer well to the NFL level. First, he blocks with the force of a guy 20 pounds heavier, because he gets so low in his stance and explodes under the pads of any defender. Football is frequently said to be a sport in which the low man wins, and Hudson's got that all the way down. On tape and during Senior Bowl practices, he set the tone and gained the advantage off the snap. I really like the way he redirects after initial contact, as well – he's highly aware of what's going on around him. He's also surprisingly agile around the edge in pass protection; he actually fans out from left guard like an above average left tackle. As good as he is in short areas, I think Hudson could be an elite center in the NFL, and it seems that he's being projected there more and more. At guard, he's just the wrong kind of 'tweener. He's dynamic off the snap but lacks the sheer size to establish and keep ground at the line. He has nice side-to-side agility but is a real mystery upfield. |

Updated 03/15/2011:
21. Kansas City Chiefs: Phil Taylor, NT, Baylor Scott Pioli needs his Vince Wilfork. The Chiefs struggled against the run late in the year because they had nothing at the nose tackle position. Phil Taylor would remedy that issue. After a strong showing at the Senior Bowl, Taylor continued to impress at the Combine and his Pro Day. He lost some more weight (334) and despite his massive frame, he ran a 5.18. Taylor has completely turned his life around, and he's definitely looking like a first-round pick. Other 2011 NFL Draft Possibilities: 1. Akeem Ayers, DE/OLB - If the Giants pass on Akeem Ayers, he could easily go to the Chiefs. Kansas City needs help across from Tamba Hali. 2. Nate Solder, Gabe Carimi or Derek Sherrod, OT - The Chiefs need to improve both tackle positions. 55. Kansas City Chiefs: Rodney Hudson, G/C, Florida State ESPN's Bill Williamson reported that there's a 50-percent chance that Casey Wiegmann, 38 in July, will retire this offseason. The Chiefs need a successor and some insurance just in case Wiegmann hangs it up. 86. Kansas City Chiefs: Tandon Doss, WR, Indiana A list of players who have lined up across from Dwayne Bowe this season: Chris Chambers, Terrance Copper and Verran Tucker. Bleh. 117. Kansas City Chiefs: Delone Carter, RB, Syracuse Thomas Jones, 33 in August, is owed $3 million in 2011. He wasn't very effective this past season, so the Chiefs could let him go. If that happens, Delone Carter would be a very cheap alternative. 132. Kansas City Chiefs: Cheta Ozougwu, DE/OLB, Rice Kansas City acquired this selection from Tampa Bay for Alex Magee. The Chiefs have only one reliable pass-rusher. Adding a solid complement across from Tamba Hali would take Kansas City's defense to the next level. 137. Kansas City Chiefs: Ricky Stanzi, QB, Iowa The Chiefs will owe Matt Cassel a ton of money in the near future if they decide to stick with him. They need to groom a young quarterback just in case Cassel's abysmal playoff performance wasn't a fluke. |

I'd rather have a QB in there rather than 2 WR's. We don't have a backup and there aren't going to be any FA signings before the draft. The last thing I want to see is Cassel go down and they have Palko running around pitching the ball to defenders.

I'd rather sign Drew Stanton than draft one of these QBs.

I'd be highly pissed to to watch TJ make 3 million this year for his 3 yards and a cloud of dust runs.

Hell... I'd take Kaepernick over 2 WR's and I think he's going to fall flat on his face in the NFL. Any of the top 10 QB's in this draft I would rather see.
