Nope, but they did pay the application fee for me becoming a notary, as well as paying for the $10k bond insurance.

As far as me, I'm attending a home inspection tomorrow morning... if it goes well, the feeling that life is on hold will go away in 2 or 3 weeks, when I can get the driveway redone, move in, buy a new TV and game console (you know, the important stuff), and start doing other important home owner type stuff.

If it goes badly, I might be moving in with my parents in a few weeks.... and I wish I was completely kidding.

I'm in a bit of a rough spot.

I'm trying to figure out what direction I'm supposed to go in. I'm debating between getting even more schooling, or just doubling down and going down the career path when I think it could lead in financially stable but emotionally unsatisfying directions.

But then I have a family to consider, too, you know?

I'm a happy and blessed guy. But I wish I could fast forward the tape five years to see if I should even be giving a shit right now.

There's nothing wrong with staying with your parents for a while. At least, I hope not.

Wife's thoughts and feelings on the matter definitely have to be considered. I'm sure that, as long as the two of you are good, she would encourage you to go in the direction that leads to emotional satisfaction. JMO, but being content is worth more than being financially stable (although financial security can most certainly help with being content). I can see your dilemma. Good luck, friend.

This last month has been a real test as a single father to a teenage daughter. We so far have resolved some issues but she is still being difficault & rebellious to say the least. I don't blame her that she has had a troubled past from being abused by her step father, & she has had problems with developing kidney stones at a young age that has kept her out of school. It's still hard for me to deal with Drs & school & her moms interferance in my relationship development with her.

The thing I am doing is persevering through this and am learning as I go. I am keeping my head up and know it's one day at a time. This is the most flustrated I've been sinse getting her back in June of last year. I am still happy and wouldn't give her up for the world. At that I just worry about her making it through school & getting help she needs to over come her emotional pain & any thing that is legit medicaly. Seems like she is fine one minute then the next something is wrong just before going back to school. Hmm. Yea I know she has deep pain inside, but I don't understand what is real pain from hurt or attention pain?

So far it's been a good day & life is just a rollercoaster don't know what to expect around the next bend.

My brother,we float the same boat. I am a single dad with an 8 year old daughter. Her mom has abused her mind, in ways that should put her behind bars for child abuse. I have my mom for help. But mom is out of touch with how things are in 2011. Her advise would be great if it was still 1957. Hang in there. Its hard,no 2 ways about it. Heart breaking at different points to.

Life is pretty decent right now. I have an ok job, an ok place to live, and a good car that gets good gas mileage. Plenty of things to keep me entertained each and every day. I guess the only real things I could use is maybe find a girl that I like being with, and to enroll in some courses this summer. Always looking to expand my knowledge on things. Who knows, maybe I'll meet somebody if I take a couple classes? Otherwise, I'm pretty content. Oh also - I need to quit smoking and exercise more often. I miss playing basketball. Now that it's starting to get warmer out I gotta get out and start shooting around.
