Well, I just paid $12500 of the government's money to go to school for 30 more weeks. I graduate with an Associate Degree on February 12, 2012.

I have decided that I put myself down way too much. I probably don't even realize when I'm doing, I do it so much. Not only is it not good to think such things about myself, it gives other people the idea that saying the same things about me is okay. When other people say it though, it really hurts. A few examples from this weekend:

A friend and I were helping another friend who was stumbling drunk get into his house Saturday night. I went to search his pockets, and I said something about not worrying about me trying anything, in jest. He looks at me and says, "Honey, no worries. You're not that great looking anyway." Drunk people are so honest.

Yesterday, I was at a friend's house for a fish fry. They were setting up a volleyball net. My friend says it can be him and his cousin's friend against his cousin and one of her other friend's. He then says, "And we'll take LeAnn, so you guys will have a better chance of winning." I know he was joking, but it still hurt. I decided that it was a good time to head home.

Maybe I'm PMSing. I always take things more personal than I should. Still, I'm going to start making a conscious effort to stop putting myself down so much.

If i were you, i'd learn to box. Then when they say something stupid you can punch them in the face.

But they said things that they've heard me say about myself numerous times. I can't hold it against them whenever they think I believe it to be a matter of fact anyway. It is, but it just hurts a little more when other people say it, ya know?

Well, one of them was completely wasted at the time. People tend to say whatever is truly on their minds.

The other one....I'm not good at sports. I wish I was. And he was trying to talk a few others into playing. I got him good earlier, so it was probably just payback. He wouldn't intentionally say something if he knew it would hurt my feelings. Normally it wouldn't, but it was just after hearing the other thing the night before.

If they are truly your friends, then you should know they are kidding around and you should be able to have a comeback for them. If you aren't sure if they are kidding around, and it hurts your feelings, then they aren't truly the friends you think they are. If that's the case, then tell em to go play hide and go **** themselves and get better friends. I'm 44 years old and made the decision many years ago that I'm too old to hang with people that don't make me feel good about being their pals, even when we are giving each other major shit. If a "friend" makes me feel otherwise, then I have no need for them in my life. If they are a good friend, there isn't any limit to what I will do for them.

I am the same way. I think it was just one of those times when I take things personal when I shouldn't. I'm used to the one friend (in the second scenario) giving me shit. As I said, I had gotten him really good earlier that day. I think it was just that on top of what the other person said the day before. And I'm a moody female. Probably just caught me at the wrong time.
