Royals Interested in BJ Upton
On my phone, so I can't post a link, but Rotoworld is reporting that the Royals are interested in BJ Upton. If true, I love this. Upton is the perfect type of player the Royals should be interested in.

What would you give up for him in terms of prospects?

If you can Upton for basically nothing, it would allow you to package Myers or Cain for starting pitching.

Cheap, lmao welcome to the MLB trade deadline. He's one of the few impact players on the market. As for his D watching the guy 18 times a year, there are atleast a few hits a game he robs with his speed. He's an uber dusche but the kids got talent.

According to Joel Sherman of the New York Post, the Royals have expressed interest in B.J. Upton.
Kansas City certainly has a deep enough farm system to pull off the move, but the Phillies are also heavily involved in talks for the 26-year-old outfielder. Upton is batting .229/.310/.395 with 15 home runs and 52 RBI through 95 games this season. He landed on the trading block last week when the Rays called up Desmond Jennings.

I imagine it would be goodbye very soon to Melky. If Cain comes up this year, Francoeur could be gone soon too.... although I've said before I don't think Francoeur will be traded... getting Upton would "seem" to change that imo.

How is he worth giving up anything at all to get him? Melky is .295/.332/.454 with 12 HR's and 57 RBI's. Cain is .318/.388/.521 with 11 HR's and 52 RBI's at AAA. Last year in 43 games for the Brewers he was .306/.348/.415 as a ****in rookie which are numbers Upton has never matched! The only thing he has going for him over the two players we currently have the rights to is stolen bases. His fielding % isn't as good as Melky's or Gordon's who also have 10 and 16 assists compared to Upton's 5. As mentioned since 2007 he has been a declining player. The only guy I would trade to get him would be Davies. Anyone other than that and it would be insane.

I can see Upton breaking out if he leaves to another team... but he seems like the type of guy who would think he was above playing for the lowly Royals. He would probably just ****ing mail it in.
