DRC was a recent first round draft pick and is still young, and Cassel had played an entire 16 game season, giving teams time to adjust to him, and forcing him to show he could adjust.

The Cardinals gave up much more.

The difference is the Chiefs gave up a 2nd for Vrabel and Cassel.

The Cardinals gave up a 2nd and Rogers-Cromartie for Kolb. The Cardinals gave up a guy who has been to a Pro Bowl(yeah, doesn't mean much, but still) for a guy who hasn't been a starter for a whole season.

The Chiefs gave up only a 2nd, not a Pro Bowl caliber player.

Everything I've heard is that Arizona couldn't wait to get rid of DRC.

Apparently he wasn't responding to coaching, took unnecessary risks and wasn't a team player. The feeling that he was expendable had much more to do with him, and not necessarily what they thought of Kolb.

Bottom line?

Just like the Chiefs, the Cardinals are dealing for an unproven QB and backing up the Brinks truck to do so.

As much as the lockout sucked, I kinda like having all this free agency action condensed into a short period of time. It's not as fun as having games to watch, but it's damned sure entertaining.

This could work to Dex's advantage. He's a guy that needs the ball underneath in space. When our entire passing game consists of short passes, there's nowhere for him to operate.
