It would be an absolute WTF move when we have much greater needs.
This. I just don't see us going after another receiver, since drafting Baldwin in the 1st and then signing Breaston. Cassel has plenty of targets. The pass protection is more what I'm worried about.

It's not really a matter of how many weapons you have. In the Breaston youtube highlight video that was posted the cardinals were running a lot of shotgun bunch sets, which is a 4 wr formation... It just depends on the offense Haley has in mind, there is no given number of playmakers at a given position...

I wouldn't be surprised by anything we do on offense. Pioli has hitched his wagon to Cassel, I think if he could get him as many weapons as possible, he could.

They say money never sleeps. Rich Cimini got the deal. A. Cromartie stays with the Jets. He gets $32 million over four years.

Crap. I was hoping the raiders would've signed him. I love me some burnt toast in the division.

The Jets can be in the market for big name FAs and re-sign their own. This concept is foreign to Pioli, apparently.

Btw, I'm a huge fan of Pioli, but I admit I have a little FA frustration right now. I just wish we could improve through the draft and FA, like others have said.

I see the point. But we have other options if Haley wants to run 4 WR formations, such as using Copper as the 4th WR. That being said, I still think pass protection is a bigger issue looking at our offensive line in its current state.

Tucker didnt fair too bad against opposing teams #2 corners when given the chance.

I think he should be able to beat #4 corners all day.

Our receiving corps are solid as a rock right now.

Signing 3 players that should play significant roles next year in Gregg, Breaston and Siler isnt bad for three days of free agency where the players arent "sight unseen" like they were prior to friday.

Give this shit time or start listing teams that have won it all with building a team through free agency.

Raiders
Redskins
similar teams

those are the ones that are built through free agency.

5:1 is probably the true ratio of big money free agents being busts:good signings.

let it play out before you judge.

Um... Whut?

The SAME Scott Pioli signed:
WR Steve Breaston
NT Kelly Gregg
ILB Brandon Siler

Three impressive acquisitions.
All three help this team immensely AND immediately.

You've been pumping this shit since you got here.

We are not the Redskins. Get used to it. And be thankful.

Big FA splashes do not =Ws

I will just about Guarantee that when the powers that be, inside the organization believe that we are a SB contender, with a strong long term out look, we will be throwing the big dollars around. Until then, It's gonna be guys with upside, and stop gap/rotational players who will allow the young players to see the field, so they can be evaluated and be ready to move aside when/if they develop. And if they don't develop, their replacements will more than likely be drafted, not overpaid for.
This is the way I've wanted this team built since the day I could understand how a FO works.
