Have you seen any other school's facilities other then Mizzou's? Trust me. I am not going to get into an argument over facilities and what is better when I have seen a fairly large range.

Strange, many others have said Mizzou's facilities are on par with the best in the country. I'm sure your flyover is more representative though.

Mizzou in the SEC would be Mizzou in the Big 12 about ten years ago.

Mizzou wasn't 1/2 the football program it was ten years ago.

I agree that it would be a much tougher hill to climb, much tougher - but not impossible. I'm terrified of Alabama - absolutely terrified of them. That team should damn near never lose. Auburn's gonna be fun to smack around a little bit in a couple years when the sanctions from the Newton deal finally come (and they will). Florida seems poised to take a bit of a step back.

But MU has acquitted itself nicely against a lot of its SEC opponents and they are finally starting to build the talent on the O and D lines that could allow them to compete.

Bottom line: MU has no choice. I'd much prefer see them take a B10 offer, but they don't have one. If they get an SEC invite, they have to take it. It's only a matter of time until UT gets a network deal and goes independent. Then the music stops and there just might not be a chair for us.

Here's an interesting thought.

There's 8 BILLION in financial support consolidated in 3 people that live in Columbia, Mo. And all of them are quite supportive of MU athletics when they need to be (just witness the Painter fiasco, the Page arena, the baseball stadium, etc, etc...). Even beyond those 3, there's a ton of local money in Columbia, it's really surprising once you get about 5 minutes north of town to the wooded districts - million dollar homes everywhere.

There's a shitload of money available to this school and it may be possible that a move to the SEC gets those boosters to lay more of it out to keep par with those schools. How great would a major overhaul/replacement of Faurot field be? Afterall, we don't compare to Memorial Stadium, let alone those monsters in the south.

A move to the SEC may be just what the program would need to become more than just the sleeping giant it's been referred to for the last 1/4 century. Maybe a higher degree of difficulty is what wakes this program up.

They are, but a lot of it is based on the new B-Ball facilities.

The football facilities are lagging a little behind. They're not awful, but they're not elite at this point. If nothing else, I would hope a major move would lead to serious upgrades in that department.

It's not a slam on MU so settle down.

The opinion of the recruit and his family was outright awe of Arkansas. BTW, he also visited OU, OSU, Mizzou, Neb, KSU, Kansas, Col St, and ISU and was recruited by but did not visit Ala****ingbama.

But what would they know?
