Chiefs vs. Bills discussion thread...

Now that the preseason is over finally, the real bullets start to fly!

Who wins? What matchups can we take advantage of? How do we matchup with their offense, defense, special teams?

We must beat them. My wife's aunt is a big fan and she's as annoying as their uniforms.

You do the math. The gross difference in his size is extremely exaggerated by that bogus comparison picture.
Wouldn't be the first time that the big sports guys screwed up.

I believe my eyes, and my eyes tell me Merriman hasn't been near the same since dropping the juice.

LOL, I write a small pamphlet, and you come back with this. Anything could happen in any game. It's fun to revisit last year's matchup, but you could play the same team twice in the same year and have vastly different results. In 2003, the Bills beat the Patriots 31-0 in the opener...then the Patriots beat the Bills 31-0 in the final game. Look at the difference between the two Chargers/Chiefs matchups last year.

The opener can be especially tricky. The trend is to focus on how changes look on paper, cuz that's all you got. You don't really know until you see it on the field. Everybody TRIED to get better this offseason, and everybody is trying to rob the same train.

Evans hasn't made an impact for us in a couple of years now. He should be much better in Baltimore.

Dareus is as strong as a bull already. He's a special player, or should be. All he has to do is hold his ground against a couple of lineman without getting pushed backwards on most plays...take on a double team. It's not rocket science. He'll need some time to reach his potential, but make no mistake: he's an immediate improvement to that line. Torrell Troup, our second round pick from last year, needed a year (so far), but Dareus is way ahead of most d-lineman coming into the NFL. He might be that 1 out of 10. We'll see.

Well, it's certainly hard to argue with your eyes, isn't it? Merriman hasn't been the same, but IMO it's because of the injuries mainly. He's basically been hurt for three years. That's bad.

When looking at his "terrible" 12.5 sack year, maybe people should consider he wasn't asked to blitz as much in 2007 and was put in coverage more. I hope your eyes weren't just on the stat sheet that year.

Most of us Chiefs fans were fond of Gailey. We know from experience that he can make Chicken Salad out of Chicken Shit.

But the NFL is about Matchups. And the Bills don't matchup well with the Chiefs right now. Same way the Chiefs don't matchup well with a team like the Ravens.

Here is my take on what will happen:

1. C.J Spiller won't be a factor. Not because he isn't a good player, but because there won't be enough offensive plays ran to utilize him. The Bills will see a lot of 3 and outs.

2. They'll see a lot 3 and outs because of your swiss cheese O-line. We have a premier pass rusher in Tamba Hali. We have run stuffers in Kelly Gregg and Dorsey. We have others up and coming, but you don't know who they are so I won't even talk about them. It'll go in one ear and out the other. Kinda like when you talk about no-name Bills to us. There will be someone in Fitz's face all day.

3. The Chiefs will stack the box. Fitz will be forced to throw short because of the heavy pressure. Holding the Ball and throwing downfield isn't an option here. The Bills will have to dink and dunk their way downfield.

4. Stevie Johnson will likely grab a few balls against Flowers. Flowers has a difficult time dealing with speed. He'll be good for a few first downs but likely not enough to sustain drives.

The bottom line is you guys just don't have enough offensive playmakers to deal with the Chiefs D. Gaily can only scheme so much. Keep in mind who he is scheming against. And no, I am not talking about Haley...

It's not a knock on the Bills, it's just a bad Match up for them. This is going to be a low scoring game.

I don't think the Chiefs will score a lot of points either. I think our offense will be inconsistant. They will struggle to find any sort of rhythem. But at the end of the day, we have more playmakers on both sides of the ball then you guys do.

Chiefs 20
Bills 10
I respect your opinion.

#Chiefs injury report shows that Cassel was a full participant in today's practice. WR Jon Baldwin (thumb) didn't practice.

Last year the Chiefs played 3 games against teams with a winning record. They went 1-2 in those games, beating the Chargers, who went on to beat them 0-31 later in the year. Then they got spanked by the Ravens in the playoffs.

Before last year, the Chiefs were 4-12, just like the Bills were last year. Not to put your team down, but these are the fact. You definitely took a step forward or two, but you still have some respect to earn; until you do, you should expect these things to be brought up.

Last year is all we have to go by really, along with a projection of how changes that were made will take effect. You are right though - this year is a whole new ballgame. I don't think you will run over us like you did before with the rushing game.
No. I was not implying that you stupid son of a bitch. I said EVEN THE ELITE TEAMS, like the Pats, Packers, etc...struggle with the bottom dwellers like the Bills from time to time.

How does Bills fan tout their front 7 as a strength at this point? Kelsay and Williams were the only two to start 16 games last year.

Davis: 4 starts
Barnett: 4 starts
Merriman: 1 starts
Edwards: 11 starts

The front seven are a huge question mark for you guys.

No need to get testy, Spanky.

And you did NOT say that. You said this:

Sick of seeing these Bills fans keep mentioning LAST years game. Its like they dont realize that even the elite teams can and do struggle against the worst teams at home. It happens. We still won, and we still statistically kicked your ass. That being said, it means nothing for the game Sunday.
I see no mention of any other team like the Pats, Packers, etc. here, but maybe that's because I'm a stupid son of a bitch.

I wouldn't be surprised if the game is close but in the end, considering the big difference in talent, it would be a total disaster if the Chiefs were to lose this game. I mean, Flowers, Carr, Berry, Hali, Dorsey, Johnson and with the running game... are you kidding me, the Bills have nowhere near that talent.

Even if Cassel has the worst game of his career, the Chiefs have enough talent in other areas to win this game. No disrespect to Bills fans.

And now that I think of it the game will be at Arrowhead, wow if this team loses I might consider changing team.

I really hope this is humor or something, because few things piss me off more than "fans" who just change their favorite teams when it suits them.
