It's a losing battle. Some people are just Manning haters and there's nothing to be done about it. I understand there are some legitimate concerns and I get why many people don't think he's the best ever, but a lot of people are so butthurt about losing to him all the time, they refuse to accept that he's one of the greats.

Wow, I really am a Manning guy, but I didn't even know it was that close. I would say that stats can be misleading. Who knows what the 'clutch' stats are. I have always loved watching Peyton work, but I won't argue if he is out until week 6.

Hey, overall I admit they were better than I thought, I was wrong about that. But that's the only thing I was wrong about. I guarantee I know more about footall than you do. If you did, you'd occasionally post something arguable and back it up, instead of just dissagreeing with everything.

Maybe one day you'll be capable of proactive thought, but I doubt it. Even if you were, you wouldnt' have the balls to act on it anyway.

I blame Carl, Marty, Dick and Herman ****ing Edwards for those playoff losses to Manning and the Colts.

I actually like Peyton Manning, and absolutely think he's one of the greatest QBs to ever play the game.

What irks me is the myth propogated that he's the greatest ever.

The greatest ever makes big plays in big moments in the games that count the most, and Manning has only done that once in his career, in the '06 playoffs against an already declining Patriot defense.

Unfortunately, I think we have seen the last of Peyton manning on the football field. IMO he is one of the best the NFL has seen on and off the field in quite some time.

You made my day, and my point.
You know, I thought you were full of shit. So I poked around the Colts' schedules. I kind of used Thanksgiving as the arbitrary cutoff point. I don't have a clue whether there was snow or not, or even if it was actually cold for the late season games. So, FWIW:

Away games in cold weather cities 2002-2010, with the current divisional setups:

Before Thanksgiving- 19
After Thanksgiving- 9

If you go back through Manning's entire career (1998-2010) though, its:

Before T-day: 34
After T-day: 15

Not sure I buy into the conspiracy, but the (absolutely unofficial) numbers bear you out, I guess.
