Now that the preseason is over finally, the real bullets start to fly!

Who wins? What matchups can we take advantage of? How do we matchup with their offense, defense, special teams?

We must beat them. My wife's aunt is a big fan and she's as annoying as their uniforms.

Good call, though. It could be ugly on either side or both. The challenge for all teams this year was getting their team prepared in a shortened offseason. Teams might not be as prepared as they would otherwise be - some teams were in better positions to handle that, like the veteran teams with continuity of coaching and such. Some teams probably prepared on their own better as far as the players getting together, working out, dropping steroids

, etc. Add to that it being the opener, and it could get ugly, like you say.

Too bad for rookie free agents this year. Hard to make an impression in that time frame. Rookies had less time too, but it was cool how quickly they signed once the ball got rolling with the new rookie wage scale, which I've been screaming about for years. Free agency was just crazy this year, too. Pretty crazy offseason, all told.

Predicting the opener in a game like this is pretty hard. I'd be a little disappointed in any fan that didn't side with their own team on this one. Although I keep bringing up how Kansas City beat one team with a winning record last year, going 10-6 still puts them ahead of the truly bad teams at the very least anyway. Gotta figure that. Maybe they'll take another step forward this year, but it'll be really tough to beat San Diego for the division IMO. Wildcards will be tough to come by in the AFC, too.

No joke about Wildcards being hard to come by. Everything about this game is unclear. Cassel's health a factor? Bills front 7 playing well right away together? Bills without Evans? Chiefs offense clicking right away after slow preseason and new OC? Hell, even the game last year was weird. KC runs all over you, and we still need 5 quarters to beat year. That only happens after we call a timeout and ice your kicker.

Chiefs have lost to plenty of teams they shouldn't have over the years, including games at Arrowhead. Who knows what will happen. Chiefs should win IMO, but lots of questions.
