I watched the game again last night....

I've been trying to avoid it, but I was bored last night and couldn't resist. Im kinda glad I did watch it though. I can see why we lost the way we did and it had much more to do with the coaching staff than the players. I know it's not the popular opinion but I don't think the talent on this team is as bad as last week may indicate. That Includes Cassel (ducks for cover)

Romeo Crennel was out coached. He had a shit gameplan and did a terrible job. He was reactive instead of proactive. He put his players in a terrible position. He did not put the right players in a position to succeed. That was the worst DC performance I've ever seen from him. Let me explain.

On the majority of the Snaps the Bills came out and spread their offense. Crennel reacted by putting in our sub defense packages, which usually featured two down linemen. He took Dorsey out of the game and subbed in Gilberry.

The majority of 1st downs we were not in our base D. Gilberry is not an every down player, yet in the 1st half it seemed like he took more snaps than Dorsey. On the majority of Jackson's longer runs which occurred on 1st and 2nd down, Gilberry got his shit pushed in. When ever Dorsey was in the game the runs resulted in much shorter gains.

Gilberry and Bailey absolutely got blown off the ball. Gregg was inconsistant but Dorsey was a beast. So Why the **** wasn't Dorsey in the game more? Especially on first downs.

I recall a series in which the Bills were 10-15 yards from the endzone yet Gilberry took 3-4 consecutive snaps. That's unacceptable.

The Chiefs did EXACTLY what the Bills wanted them to do.

AND THEN....

Berry goes out and McGraw and Shitsthebeddy come in. Rather than masking that defeciency they completely expose it! In what ****ing universe does lining up pissthebedy over a slot receiver or TE make any ****ing sense? And lets not get started on the pass rushing.

I have a lot more to say regarding the offense but the OP is already too long....

In conclusion, the coaching staff failed to put the right players in the right position to succeed.

Of course they're going to be overmatched when you're only sending 4.

It isn't an "of course". Plenty of teams rush 4 and generate pressure.

Oh, I don't know, maybe Jalil Brown? Someone Qualified for the job maybe? Or better yet, overload the O-line and rush the passer, leave everyone else in a short zone.

In the 3-4?

Kelly Gregg isn't a pass rushing NT......and Tyson Jackson isn't consistent enough.

This. I'm certain he missed open receivers on several occasions. That 3rd down sack he took in the 1st half he had Urban And Bowe open. **** him!

Yeah.

They're called "good defenses".

The blitz is a tool, it's not a lifeline. If you have to rely on the blitz, you don't have a good defense.

For plays like screens and swing passes to be truly effective, you have to be able to stretch the field vertically.

With Matt Cassel at QB, that is probably never gonna happen.

Against our passing game, all teams have to be prepared for is about 15 different types of plays and thats it and all of them can be defended within 15 yards of the LOS.

He absolutely murders this offense.

Sucks because a screen pass is intended to take the pressure off the oline so that the opposing team has to play on their heels, instead of coming right at you....but if you cant benefit from the longer developing pass plays that go for big yardage, screens are easy to see coming and easier to jump.

Just watch, as soon as we make a switch at QB, screens, draws swing passes and other parts of this offense will become effective again.

Me too. I usually watch the Directv cut-ups 2 or 3 times, even bad losses. This one stings too much though, I don't think I can bring myself to watch it again.

McCluster's fumble + Pope's would-be TD was huge.

Could have been 14-13 Chiefs at halftime.

Yeah when Arrowhead is pumped like that you gotta get after offenses early. Fitzpatrick should have been eating dirt. No killer instinct in our front seven besides Hali.

It wasn't the killer instinct of our players. It was the fact that Romeo hardly sent anymore than 4 at a time.
