Off Season Lets Talk Guns
Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.
Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon? Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware? Part 2: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=293623 Last edited by Bearcat; 07-28-2015 at 06:06 PM.. |

Hell, I like the way AR's look with just collapsible stocks, carry handles, plain etc. I actually probably like them more than the AR's with tac rails and what not.

Since I've never had the carry handle, I really don't know difficult it is to mount stuff to it. I do know that if you ever want to go the red dot/magnifier route, it will be a problem. And I agree you'll want the collapsible stock - I can't imagine why anybody would want one of the solid ones. As for the "don't plan on doing any major upgrades" part, well, good luck with that. That's half the fun of getting one, and if you upgrade a piece here and there, you won't go broke doing it. |

She wants the carry handle because that's how she trains in the army. I can't decide between which one I want. I've been debating all week.

I should be okay as long as I get a removable one. I'm just worried I'd have to zero each one in every time I want to use one or the other. That would be stupid.

Is it that she trains or trained on one in the Army? My nephew is active duty and he said M4's with tactical rails was all his unit uses for an AR. It has worked out well for me though because I have a Aimpoint CompM2 red dot from his second tour and a ACOG from his third tour now in my possession.

Interesting to know that. I was under the impression that M4's, by now would have replaced the M16 for use by military. Heck they are even looking at replacing the M4's already.

Maybe her unit uses M16's for training only. It'd be pointless to train with them if they are using M4's in the field.

On a side note, maybe they gov will be more friendly to allowing the use of grenade launchers or RPGs as bear defense? That would likely be a one shot kill!

Finally got an AR. DPMS oracle A3 upper. He threw in the removable carry handle, fixed front sight and a Ncstar red dot scope. It came out to $750 with tax. I can't wait to shoot this bitch.
He sold me two magpul mags for $22 and 200 rnds of PMC ammo for $63. Here is my concern with that. After reading the manual it says all foreign and reloaded ammo voids the warranty. This ammo is made in Korea. Should I email the guy and ask? I don't want to be "that" guy. |

If you've got a quality manufacturer then I probably wouldn't worry one bit. DPMS upper should be fine, I assume the lower is DPMS? If so then I wouldn't really stress about it. Shoot it and have fun. Just FYI..... http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_3_16/29...iew___PMC.html
