Disappointed in McCluster

Bla bla bla, he's a playmaker, he has two touchdowns already, whatever.

He has seven catches for 93 yards. 1/3 of that yardage came on one play. At least two of those are screen passes I believe.

That ****ing sucks.

This guy needs to be a threat as a WIDE RECEIVER. He hasnt made a single play down the field. I'm not even talking 20 yards. How about 10? How about coming off the line, putting your foot in the ground, getting open and giving Cassel a target?

I'm not willing to accept the idea that Cassel is so god awful he makes all our wide receivers look terrible.

McCluster hasn't done shit yet. And he was utter garbage in Indy.

Don't buy any of his ****ing t-shirts.

The difference is that Pioli is supposed to be smarter than message board posters, ReeTodd.

Let's take a look at his top 9 picks, the picks you HAVE to hit on to build a long-term successful franchise through the draft.

Tyson Jackson - turning into a mediocre defensive end. Terrible pick.
Matt Cassel - single-handedly holding back the entire franchise.
Alex Magee - enormous bust.

Eric Berry - stud
Dexter McCluster - enormous bust.
Javier Arenas - good player.

Jonathan Baldwin - can't get on the field
Rodney Hudson - can't get on the field
Justin Houston - disappointing thus far.

If you count this year's class, Pioli is batting .222 on top three picks through three drafts. He's 2 for 9, and those two players are a nickel corner and a safety on IR.

Impressive.
The best roster moves he has are guys that were here before him...they finally got DJ to play so I guess there's some amount of credit in that but most of the guys just matured as young players do.

From Patriot Reign, from a Patriots scout:

Quote:
If I said a guy was a 1st round pick and the Colts took him and he turned out to be a bust, they wouldn't have looked down on me. They wouldn't have said I was a bad grader. Because that player in the Patriots system might have been successful.
Just because a player didn't pan out for another team doesn't necessarily mean he's a shitty player.

Hell, even McNuggett might be better suited somewhere else. But to say Clausen or Mays would have been busts here just because they've been busts in Carolina and Frisco is showing off your lack of football IQ.

Quality trolling.

You can't count this year's class after 4 games. Try again in 2-3 years, moron.

Here's the deal with the draft. Players will bust. Everyone knows this. But just like poker, you need to maximize your value. Aces and Kings don't win every time, but if you get your money in with the best hand, that's really all you can do.

Trying to constantly outsmart people is why the Patriots can't build a defense. They pass on Clay Matthews for more picks, and use their 2B and 3A on RBs when it's obvious that any swinging dick can play RB in that system.

Actually, the difference is that Pioli is supposedly smarter than every other GM in the league.

I'd expect Oakland to make stupid picks. The Executive of the Decade has to be held to a higher standard.

Maybe Belichick really thinks he can play a new style of defense that has no pass rushers.

It's early, but it's kind of disappointing that this years draft isn't doing too well when it looked like a home run draft on paper.

Someone needs to ask Romeo why he isn't sending Houston at the QB and why he insists on putting Bailey in the game. Offenses see that Bailey package and they run it down our throats. Painter even saw it and audibled on the goal line.

Houston got a pressure and a hit on the QB in the 4th on 3rd and long that precipitated the punt before our go ahead TD.

I think he can be a really good player, but not in this trash style of defense.

We have 2 pass rushing OLB's in a cover 2 3-4 and we aren't going to drop Hali in coverage so of course Houston looks bad. It would be like if Pittsburgh constantly dropped Woodley into coverage.

And there it is. As said before, Crennel's defensive scheme is outdated.

There are other rookies on other teams making plays.

Right now it's a negative that none of our rookies are.

So at this time last year Jimmy Graham was a bust too, right?
