This is so unreal. We were dead. No hope. A season over. Somehow, someway we find some team chemistry and squeak into the playoffs on the last day of the season.

Only to find us facing one of the best pitching staffs assembled in years with home field advantage. We somehow, someway find a way to beat the best pitcher in baseball on the road in an elimination game.

We have to go on the road and beat the team with the best home record in baseball. A team who mortgaged their future to make this run .We somehow, someway find a way to beat them on the road and make our 18th World series trip.

We take game 1, we give away game 2 and home field advantage. Albert goes off for probably the best performance in World Series history and we take game 3 easily. Games 4 & 5 our bats fall asleep, Phone gate happens and its not looking too good.

Game 6, one of the best baseball games of all time and it takes place in a season ending go home game. Cardinals are down 2 runs in their final chance on the season, twice. They are down to their final strike of the season, twice. They give up a 2 run homer in extra innings. In the bottom of the inning their final 3 batters are a combined 3-26 in the Playoffs and a pitcher because the bench is empty. Somehow, someway they get some runners on and the comeback player of the year drives in the tying run. Mr. Freese hits the walk off home run. We will see you tommorrow night.

Game 7, With our bulldog on the mound pitching on 3 days rest he is able to give us 6 good innings and get us to within 9 outs of our 11 World series title. Texas meltsdown, probably left over from last nights game and its over.

The underdog, come back team who had no business even being in the playoffs wins a World championship. They make movies about events like this in life. Events that you remember even if your not a fan of the sport or team for the rest of your life.

When it is your team.......Priceless

You should type one more "really."

If the throw is clearly off line, which it was, the cut-off man has to act decisively. However, this assumes that he's already lined up properly, which wasn't exactly the case here. So...can't be late.

perhaps I didn't see the play right, just caught a quick glimpse of the replay and it looked like Andrus was going to *maybe* go for home and I think it threw off the communication between Pujols and Molina.

We're not talking about the same play.

I'm talking about the hit to center that moved Kinsler to third, but the missed cutoff allowed the winning run - Andrus - to advance to 2nd.

looked like there was hesitation on whether or not he thought he was supposed to cut the ball

which is why I'm wondering if there was a communication break down

I didn't know Major Leaguers didn't communicate on throws from the outfield

guess that's new to me

I didn't realize how bad Arthur Rhodes has become these days. I thought he was at least still a decent option against LHBs, but he has a 6.28 K/9, 5.02 BB/9 and a 2.51 HR/9 vs. LHBs this season. Honestly, TLR is lucky his use in high leverage situations hasn't really come back to bite them yet.

Motte should have stayed in.

Pujols should know the throw isn't online with the plate and cut it off regardless of whether the runner is trying to score or not. That throw going all the way through has no chance to get a runner.

Worst case scenario is that a run scores, but there's only a runner on 1st after.

Instead, that runner advances to 2nd, and ends up scoring the winning run on a sac fly - which couldn't have happened had he been held to 1B by making the cutoff.

yeah I'm talking about the same play...just got my baserunners confused

Kinsler rounded hard and it appeared as if he was thinking about going home...making it Molina's call on whether or not the ball should have been cut...perhaps Pujols ****ed it up, or perhaps Molina ****ed it up...

if Kinsler kept going that throw might have gotten him out at home...from the replay I saw...once I see it again I'll reevaluate my opinion

Probably pretty ****ing tough to hear Molina on that play, unless others are helping Pujols, who, as I noted, seemed to be late, which exacerbates the problem.

I'm saying if Kinsler DOES go home you have to worry about the tying run before you worry about that winning run

I need to see the throw again...because if it was so damn offline why did Kinsler retreat back to 3rd base?

I think texas gets back home and mashes. Especially Estaban German and Matt Traynor. Those two have looked great.

Let me re-watch the throw, I was busy doing shit on my computer and glanced at a replay and figured there was a communication error because Pujols seemed to initially want to cut the ball and then it looked like he pulled back...

my point was communication is a HUGE PART of throws coming from the outfield...
