Earlier in his career he was asked to be a game manager by the Bears and to dink and dunk. His MO was that he had a weak arm. Then he comes to the Broncos and zings the ball all over the field with regular 300 yard games. He was leading the NFL in passing yardage the first quarter of 2009. His YPA is much higher than Cassel if you factor in only his Denver numbers.

I still don't like the move. Chiefs take the latest retread again. If the front office thinks we're a Kyle Orton away from making the playoffs, I want some of that weed.

My feeling on this...
Kyle Orton is a SIGNIFICANT upgrade over Matt Cassel. Hard to believe anyone would suggest they're even close to the same QB. And I think he got royally screwed in Denver.

He isn't a long-term answer.

I'm very happy with this move if it means he's a stopgap to a QBOTF that we draft next year. I hope and expect our front office is smarter than that.
