Alex Skolnick - Testament isn't well known and therefore a great guitarist is left out.

He's not only a metal guitarist, he's been dabbling in the jazz gig lately. Way more talented than Kurt Cobain and many others on the list.

This list is completely goofy - seems to be good for their business though. Wonder why the great Robert Johnson dropped from the top ten down to #71 since the last RS top 100 a few years ago.

Fact is there are ten guys in my hometown who play much better guitar than a lot of these names.

There were a lot of "flash in the pan" guys in the 80's who were more impressive, like Nuno Bettencourt from Extreme. Way better than a lot on this list.

First in with Nebraska native Michael Lee Firkins. Back in the 80's I got to meet him a few times when we used to hang out at the real Russo's Music in Papillion. Nice guy and one helluva guitar player.

The absence of the 4 most influential guitar instrumentalists of our time renders this list null and void. Vai, Satriani, Eric Johnson and Buckethead should not only be on this list, but all would be in my top 20.

These lists are always funny.

Everyone has their own opinion and gets all butt hurt about their heroes being ranked below hacks like Kurt Cobain.

I can't believe a guy like Steve Vai or Joe Satriani isn't on the list, yet The Edge is. Blech. To each his own, I guess.
