*If, as expected, Todd Haley does not survive in Kansas City, Josh McDaniels could end up with the Chiefs three years after many thought he would land there. Chiefs general manager Scott Pioli could hire his old buddy from their New England days to be his head coach—if he could sell McDaniels to Clark Hunt. Or, Pioli could hire a defensive minded head coach and make McDaniels the coordinator, assuming McDaniels is fired in St. Louis. Aside from the Pioli connection, another reason McDaniels makes sense on the other end of Missouri is he has a strong relationship with Matt Cassel. In fact, the quarterback and his former offensive coordinator still talk frequently.

You are going to be shocked.

Pioli still endorses Cassel. And, Cassel is actually making the trip this week.

He will be back. I don't think Haley will.

I wouldn't be shocked if McDaniels is somehow invloved with the Chiefs.

I don't have a problem with Cassel coming back as long as we draft a 1st round QB.

But if we don't draft a QB and Cassel comes back as the starter and McDaniels becomes the Head Coach I am done with this team.

And which ones were based on previous relationships between the decision maker and the speculated candidate? The ones that came true. Yes, it is speculation, but it is based on previous relationships and isn't that far fetched considering Pioli's decision-making patterns.

Oh, I am not saying it is far fecthed. I think that Cassel is back and Haley is gone.

Of the two, I feel that Haley is more to blame than Cassel. So, I am fine with that.

I would not be surprised by the fact that McDaniels is brought to the Chiefs in some capacity.

I would be fine with him as OC. I wich that Haley would have hired him as OC this year.... but Haley's ego couldn't handle that.
