I fully admit that while I value my own views, I don't see what coaches see. That being said, I think this situation is beyond that. There just really isn't a way Stanzi could be worse, and even if he is, what is the risk?

Sometimes as a coach you lose some perspective. You see Palko working hard as hell and maybe it influences you. You are getting paid a lot but people are human. In this case, I think the fans are just seeing it more clearly.

The risk is that you can ruin him forever. He could develop into a good QB, but if you throw him to the wolves it could set him back so much he can never recover. Is it worth that for a single game in a losing season?

The Chiefs are in a spot where they really need to do what they can to get a QB in the draft. For me that means putting in Stanzi and seeing what he has and then drafting a QB unless Stanzi BLOWS you away.

The NFL is showing more and more that you can start a young QB with the likes of Dalton ect. The way the Chiefs play offense, letting him run screens, draws, slants, and throwing down field twice isn't going to ruin him.

I wouldn't worry about that. I don't think it's going to ruin him forever. Only mentally and if he's mentally beat up, he wasn't meant to be an NFL QB anyway. I do think that there's a lot to be said for... if he has some significant things to work out, then it's best to let him work out those kinks one at a time rather than have him overthink too many at one time on the field. You can't wait for him to be perfect, but it could just be that he's so raw right now that they don't feel comfortable putting him out on the field.

Well, we don't know what's driving the decision to start Palko. Haley's a smart guy and he's clearly building an offense around Palko's weaknesses. So I very highly doubt he's starting Palko because he thinks he's the better QB.

It could be that he doesn't want to signal to the team that the season is over. Like that decision or not, the team did play the last 3 games (prior to today) like a team that was fighting very hard for their coach and QB. Now that the Chiefs are pretty much mathematically eliminated, I don't think there's any way in hell that Palko starts. I would hope not, at least. If he does, then I feel like there's something going on behind the scenes... namely that Haley is mailing it in because he's fed up with the front office.

We shall see. The season is over now. If Sanzi doesn't get a look now whats the reason? GB is sick, but its not like their defense has been a monster this season. Its at home and KC runs an offense that protects the QB from having to actually pass anyway.

It's pretty obvious that loyalty and stubborn-ness are driving the decision. OBVIOUS.

They've nearly set NFL records for offensive futility WITH Palko. If marching Palko out there week after god-forsaken week is not a signal to the team that he's giving up on the season, nothing else is.

Being worse than Palko is simply not possible. At this point they have EVERYTHING to win and nothing to lose.

The entire city is calling for Stanzi. This isn't about them actually being smarter than us, this is about them still believing they need to prove they're smarter than us.
