So, now that Haley is gone, and assuming that Haley not playing Stanzi wasn't just a big F.U. to Pioli by Haley and that Stanzi doesn't go all Matt Moore on us the final three weeks if he plays, does drafting a franchise QB become the top priority going into next season?

The thinking being that Pioli has probably one more shot to prove himself. He ought to know by now that going into next year with Matt Cassel again is likely not going to leave him with much breathing room. But if he goes QB, he energizes the fan base, buys Cassel another year to allow for the grooming of said QB, and buys himself another year for development of said QB. Then, if he hits, he's just made his job a lot easier. If he misses, well, he's likely out after another couple of mediocre years anyway.

If Pioli has learned anything by looking around the league, and looking at what his buddy Dimitrioff did in Atlanta, it is that you can have whatever philosophy it takes to build a team, but if you don't have that QB, your legacy as a GM will be one of a failure. So if you are ever going to take that chance, now is it. Hell, every team in this division is starting a QB who was drafted in round 1 except the Chiefs.

Is that crazy thinking?

Do you really believe that Clark would do anything about it? There is nothing I am more sure of in all this crap than Clark doing nothing to stop Pioli.

He's a business man and winning=money.

I'm a firm beleiver that the Chiefs will make a splash in hiring a coach and drafting a quarterback this offseason. Possibly a Heisman winner?

I don't see how they could possibly sell a McDaniels hire to the fanbase, because he performed even worse than Haley did as a head coach.

And, yes, I do think they consider fan reaction. They want to sell season tickets.

Clark is the OWNER...I honestly think that if it were up to Pioli Todd would still be the coach today. Clark is NOT Lamar...When did Peterson EVER fire a coach before the season's over? Tell me...

Nothing, nothing would make more happier than you being right. I just don't see it. I don't even think you can sell the fact that this wasy Clark's decision. All this stuff about Pioli hating Todd and vice-versa. Maybe its all true, maybe not. All I know is I think this was Pioli's decision.

Clark has shown to be different than Lamar in some sense, but I think Clark is going to trust the guy he hired. I really doubt that Clark is getting into Pioli's decisions. I think they talk, Clark says ok, and they move on.

Personally...I think the Hunts as a family were embarrassed with Haley emotional outbursts...Pioli ****ed up...plane and simple. It's nice to see Clark take charge...Lamar was loyal to a fault...There's no better example than Jack Steadman and Carl Peterson

This will be Clark's decision to make an Executive decision on the QB situation, and I'll fully blame him if a change at the position doesn't transpire as I said before.

I just don't see among all the reports ect and what we have fans have seen the past 2 years, that you can think this wasn't what Pioli wanted. If Clark wants to take charge then we will draft a QB this spring. If he does I will forever have his back, no matter what success that QB ends up having.

I disagree....Lamar NEVER held a press conference with Peterson...None that I recall..other than maybe DT's death.

That would be awesome if Clark steps up. I just personally have seen nothing from this franchise that tells me we can use logic when guessing how they think.
