Life Suicide? - Page 21

Have you ever contemplated suicide? I have, I think about it everyday. I think my kids and wife would be better off without me. My wife is an absolute angel. She did not deserve to be stuck with me. I know that it's the right thing to do. But it's cowardly. I know for a fact that I am going to hell. I love my kids and wife so much, but I have not been a good father.

I would like to say i did it on my own. But honestly, all the credit goes to my wife and parole officer. Sometimes i have problems with the 'help' and i feel they're just doping me up to make me like them.

but i've seen problems i've caused others with my bs and i'm more understanding now.

I will never understand suicide myself but I know how real it is. I had a friend commit suicide in high school within the first few months of his senior year. He was a state champion wrestler, good student and just got accepted to UM. His seemed like a impulse suicide but who really knows. He had a meeting to see a Dr. about how he was feeling but I think one bad day to many caused him to do it a few days before seeing that doctor.....sat in his families shed and put a shotgun in his mouth. His younger sister said she found him, half his head missing. Living and growing up in a community of less than 1,000 people in rural Montana, needless to say everyone was stunned. Just a few weeks later a 15 year old kid killed himself through hanging.

My dad has worked with the mentally ill for over 30 years and he is the greatest man I know. He really helped me understand how people get so down and how mental illness is probably the scariest thing someone can go through.

For anyone every thinking about doing such a drastic thing, get help. There is lots of help and I hope you just think of doing it for yourself and saving your friend and family from just having to live with your memories everyday.

Sorry for such a long post but it feels good for me to be able to relive my friends story every so often, to remind me why I wake up everyday to do my best and be my best. The grief I suffered through that loss I will never forget but the perspective it gave me on life has actually been a blessing in a weird way.
