I think we're doing a week for 2-4th place and a month for the overall winner.

The other school of thought was to just do 1 day for every vote they get in the final poll.

Honorable Mentions got a day or two. We lifted the only 3 we've done early.

I don't know all the ins and outs of this particular situation or even the criteria for banning, etc...so maybe I don't even have any business posting in this thread.

But I hope that those who make the decisions to ban people aren't flippant or personal about it. I always enjoyed Hootie's posts and think he's pretty knowledgeable and willing to actually have a solid opinion on here. I think he makes CP a better place, and unless he did something way over the line, would love to have him back.

I understand it's a thankless job. And over the years I hope I haven't caused too much trouble for the mods. In the past I've had a couple of threads where SHT and I exchanged words and he tried to get personal, saying things about the wife and kids that were pretty low. But in the end, they were just words. I hit him below the belt also, but I think it killed him personally. I feel sort of bad about that.

However, last week, despite the dustup with Fraz, I thought Hootie had really showed some maturity and was actually pretty funny during the Broncos game thread.

I'm not aware of Hootie's history with the mods and if he never comes back it won't mean dick to me in the long run. We all suffered through the formative years of Clay and today he's quite a character. Perhaps we were witnessing the metamorphosis of Hootie?

Lastly, I can't remember the antagonist in the "Dane Leaving" thread but IMO that was a perfect time to lay that particular poster out. There are limits, and calling or accusing somebody of being a "Sandusky" is pretty shitty thing.

I hope you guys reconsider the Hootie ban.

I will say this and it is an undeniable fact you allow lesser men to stay here and I respect you for that. If I was a mod here or anywhere else it would be troll season year around. If that seems unfair, the disparity could be explained by "reporting". Sometimes infractions aren't reported and we simply aren't aware.
