How is he at fault? He committed to a coach who told him he would compete for the starting job. That coach got fired before Brock ever stepped on campus. The new coach told him he won't get to compete for the starting job. Brock wants to explore his options, and the school won't let him. Regardless of whose fault this is, KU is taking some serious body blows here, and this absolutely will be used against them.

The "body blows" are that you're not going to **** with HCCW and the staff. The guy has been a nightmare and has been given many, many chances to make things right and he's dropped the ball every single time.

Now we have reports of other dismissed players that say nothing but good things about the staff and administration.

I'm sorry but I'm taking Jordan Webb's word over Brock Berglund. Every player that KU wants on their team will recognize that.

KU should grant him a conditional release to no other conference school in a year. That's the standard in this kind of situation. The kid is sketchy, KU should not do him any favors. That's a sign of weakness.

There is a protocol to these things. Next week's hearing it will be decided. You don't just flippantly say yes or no to player commitments.

The football team isn't thinking about this at all. The hearing is scheduled. It's not a big deal. The only people making an issue of it are mu fans at this point.

The two biggest sports radio stations in KC are making a big deal out of it.

As far as Pinkel goes, he just had an in home visit with the #1 ranked player in the country. He's doing just fine, thanks.

I'm truly interested in reading about that. As far as I knew he had interest in many different schools but his father being a Jayhawk was one of the deciding factors.

But if there is proof that what you say is true I'd be more than willing to admit I'm wrong.

This is usually done by the party that has the weakest case.

No, it's not usually done by the party w/ the weakest case, it's done by the first party to get a microphone. It's often done by the party with the most money. And even more often than that it's done by both parties.

Seeing as how my profession is litigation, I'm pretty comfortable saying that I know exactly when and how an aggrieved party is likely to take to the airwaves in support of its position.

And am more than comfortable reiterating my previous position - your assertion here is completely meritless and not supported by facts or history.

Maybe you should try sticking to sports and avoiding giving social commentary on the behavior of those engaged in adversarial postures.

Yeah, the bad guy usually wants to make it into a big story, and the good guy usually just wants it to go away.

I know that whenever I see someone rushed out of a courtroom with their jacket pulled over their head and lawyers blocking the cameras I think "that person looks innocent". I mean why would the person who has done nothing wrong want to get their side of the story out?
