Stuff You Could Live Without But Must Have Because Of The Quality
I've been going to do this thread for a few months, so here goes.
What are some things that you know of out there, that you may not need, but are in a class of their own. I'm talking top notch stuff, well above just very good, the best of the best and well worth it, because of the extreme quality. Things you would like, or would make great gifts for the right person. I'm not talking high dollar things like cars, lets say around $300, or less. Perhaps this will help with future gift ideas for people. I'll post two examples: 1. I was trying to hunt down a leather bottle koozie, a cow (hair out) koozie to drink from, out in the man cave. (yeah twisted sense of humor) I looked all over and finally found one, right here in town, after googling the hell out of it. As far as I know, these folks are the only ones out there that make top notch leather koozies. When I found them, I said the hell with the cow hair and invested in a bison bottle koozie. It's bison hide that's lined in Neoprene with a zipper and all handmade. I tested it all summer and I can safely say, this thing keeps my beer colder longer than anything I have ever tried, not even close. On top of that, the way it's made, it will last forever. I had one knocked out for my brother and my Dad as well. They have several different kinds of hides they can use, including things like shark. http://www.etsy.com/shop/MontanaRedS...ion_id=8099603 2. If you, or someone in your family likes top notch candy, I'm talking the best you have ever tried, the Parrot Confectionery is a safe bet. These guys have been around along time, the early 50's to be exact and it looks about the same in there, old school. Whenever I'm in Helena, I have to stop for either a hot fudge, or caramel sunday. I also pick up two quarts of each for my parents and bring them back to town. All their stuff is handmade and or hand dipped. If you like candy, or have to pick out a gift for someone else who does, this is a safe bet. http://www.parrotchocolate.com/ Lets hear it, expain what it is and post a link. |

The damn thing will keep your beer cold about 3 times longer than the standard neoprene koozies, from my experience. I wish I would have found one 10 years ago.
They are knocking me out an alligator koozie this week. ![]()

This. Give me Charmin or give me death.
![]() At the office, it seems like the toilet paper gets rougher and rougher while the paper towels get flimsier and flimsier. At some point I think I'll be better off wiping my ass with the paper towels and drying my hands with the toilet paper. ![]() |

The solution is to drink faster, not buy a goretex coozie.

steelhead extra pale ale and steelhead extra stout from Mad River brewing co.
Best two beers I've ever had. I got a tax refund and spent a nice chunk of it one year through 99bottlesofbeer.com to have a few cases shipped to KC since it isn't offered here. |

Bah!
This is the best tequila I have ever tasted by far. Goes for around $90-100 for a 750ml bottle, but oh so worth it. ![]()

Single-malt scotch. No blends.
High-end bourbon, like $25-$30 minimum. High-thread-count bedsheets. Yes, too, on the quality toilet paper. EDIT: Yes, 100% Agave tequila. I CAN taste the difference between that and the lesser Jose Cuervo stuff. Night and day. |
