They have been soft-peddling the roman numerals anyway, they always say the number. In 2016, people will refer to it as Super Bowl 50. The L will still be there, just a minor feature on the super bowl logo, a few comedians will make jokes, and we'll move on to LI in 2017, or as most people will call it, "Super Bowl 51"

You seem to think that pronouncing "Super Bowl LI" as Super Bowl fifty one is somehow contradictory.
