He could draft Luck and RGIII but will still take the brunt of all the hate if the Chiefs don't turn it into something quickly. It is what it is. This lowly shithole team hasn't won a meaningful game in 2 decades. The town is ready. The remote fans are probably even more ready than the locals.
I disagree wholeheartedly.

If Pioli were to land Luck or RG3 and they don't pan out then at least they took a shot. That would not be Pioli's fault in the least. We, at least me, as a fanbase are sick of the safe moves for mediocre free agents and stop gap QBs. If KC winds up with either QB, the fanbase will embrace him and Pioli's hands are completely clean.

I wouldn't be thrilled if we gave up 3 firsts for either one but if that is the price to get a shot at a real franchise QB... so be it. I am ready for a fresh start. I would be equally happy if Manning heals and we land him (laugh), or if we trade down and manage to pick up both Konz and Foles.

I know, Hudson is supposed to be the C. I'd still prefer Konz and let Hudson duke it out with Lilja.

Honestly, I was 2 years old so no... I don't remember it. That also means that this was nearly 3 decades ago. You should probably get over it by now.

It is time to try again. Either that or we can tuck tail and hope we can somehow bumble**** our way into a playoff win and lord forbid a super bowl.

I'd probably get over it quickly watching Horatio Caine lifting some Clark Hunt fingerprints and Tamba Hali DNA off the Lombardi. That would pretty much work for me.

Who knew Clark Hunt posted on this board? This franchise made a mistake nearly 30 years ago and have gone so far into their shell afraid to make another that I don't think they remember what the sun looks like. Steve Fuller had 31 starts for KC. Todd Blackledge had 24. Between Doug Hudson (7th round pick in 1987 with one pick) and Brodie Croyle, no QB drafted by the Chiefs got a start. We have used our first round pick on a QB twice in team history.

Pioli making a move for RG3 would be admitting he made a 64 million dollar mistake in Matt Cassel. His ego will not allow him to do that. Pioli contends that Matt Cassel is the guy at QB, and if he actually believes that, theres no way he (in his mind) wastes a 1st rounder, or multiple first rounders + star talent to draft another quarterback.

If he does do that, then its an indictment that he's been full of shit about Matt Cassel the whole time.

Never happen. I dont honestly see Pioli drafting ANY quarterbacks this year. He has his guy in Cassel, and we drafted Stanzi last year.

He will either make at attempt to sign Kyle Orton as competition (roughly translated: 2nd string QB), or he will bring in some scrub free agent or an undrafted free agent QB to fill out the roster.

The only hope for the Chiefs franchise this year is that Scott Pioli keels over while horking down longjohns and bearclaws while fapping to Cassel's Pro Bowl jersey.

That's a HUGE "if." I'd be hard pressed to assume that both RGIII and Luck will be available for pick-up after the 5th and 6th picks in the first round.

Say all you want. But, having a 7-9 record doesn't guarantee a great shot at one of the best rookie prospect QB's in the draft. Either way, I am not embracing Pioli until the Chiefs have at least made it to the AFC Championship round of the playoffs, which they haven't done since 1994. They need to win a playoff game before many of us can say anything positive about Pioli.

Winning one's division (10-6), and then choking in the AFC wildcard game isn't much improvement when the franchise has been win-less in the playoffs since 1995. The Chiefs should have Marty Schottenheimer as the Offensive Coordinator, someone similar to Todd Haley as the Offensive Line Coach, and maybe John Gruden as the Defensive Coordinator (this is just a hypothesis). Some might hate, but the Chiefs have yet to win in the playoffs since Schottenheimer's departure in the late 90's.

Chiefs last made it to the AFC Championship in '93, not '94.

They last won a playoff game in '93, not '95.

I have no idea wht the hell you're talking about with Marty, Haley and Gruden.

Do you ever watch football?
