Peyton Manning to visit Denver TONIGHT to meet with Donks

Peyton Manning will be in Denver tonight visiting with the Broncos, according to two NFL sources.

This is getting serious, folks.

Manning, arguably the most decorated free agent in NFL history, has the Broncos on his short list. The long-time Indianapolis Colts quarterback was released earlier this week amid concerns about his neck, a $26 million bonus payment and the team's opportunity to select highly prized quarterback Andrew Luck with the No. 1 pick in the upcoming NFL draft.

Manning, 36, has been cleared to throw by his neck specialist, Dr. Robert Watkins. One NFL source said Manning will also visit the Arizona Cardinals and Miami Dolphins after visiting with the Broncos. A source said Manning would like to make a decision by Tuesday, the first day of free agency.

The Broncos' top brass of John Elway, coach John Fox and general manager Brian Xanders, are currently in Stillwater, Okla., watching the Oklahoma State Pro Day workout that features quarterback Brandon Weeden.

The Broncos have the No. 25 pick in the draft, plus the 25th selection in the second round. Weeden, who turns 29 in October, is considered the second-best passer to Luck in the draft and has been projected to go between the Broncos' top two picks.

Manning will turn 36 in two weeks.

A tipster, whom we regarded as either very trustworthy or an evil genius, told PFT last night that Peyton Manning will meet with BV.P. of football operations John Elway and other Broncos officials in Stillwater and then head to Denver to meet with Broncos owner Pat Bowlen.

Mike Klis and Woody Paige of the Denver Post now report that Manning will meet with the Broncos in Denver on Friday night.

Earlier on Friday, Mike Sando of ESPN.com connected the dots via flightaware.com, tracking a plane linked to Bowlen flew to Stillwater on Thursday night, and then made an early-morning trip to Miami and back to Stillwater.

Oh jeeez..If Peyton is spending that much time with Elway it could be bad--or good....? maybe manning will end up hating him by the time the visit is over. Highly doubt it.

Alright, here's the plan, people:

sadly, donkeyface and peyton are pretty good friends off the field. go figure. Elway just wanted to have him come in and have him lay everything out for what it would take to get him to play in denver. Its the perfect excuse for denver management to get rid of tebow. Peyton would be stupid to go to the donks. Its either us or miami.
I would be excited to get peyton if he signed with us but we HAVE to sign either cassel, orton, or some other vet to back him up because hes a sack away from retiring. Thats why i think whoever gets him, theyll be disappointed. He hasent played in a year when most qb's careers start to tip for the worse. Not looking too good. Hes still the best ever to play the position. Just not playing at that level anymore
