Peyton Manning to visit Denver TONIGHT to meet with Donks
Peyton Manning will be in Denver tonight visiting with the Broncos, according to two NFL sources.

This is getting serious, folks.

Manning, arguably the most decorated free agent in NFL history, has the Broncos on his short list. The long-time Indianapolis Colts quarterback was released earlier this week amid concerns about his neck, a $26 million bonus payment and the team's opportunity to select highly prized quarterback Andrew Luck with the No. 1 pick in the upcoming NFL draft.

Manning, 36, has been cleared to throw by his neck specialist, Dr. Robert Watkins. One NFL source said Manning will also visit the Arizona Cardinals and Miami Dolphins after visiting with the Broncos. A source said Manning would like to make a decision by Tuesday, the first day of free agency.

The Broncos' top brass of John Elway, coach John Fox and general manager Brian Xanders, are currently in Stillwater, Okla., watching the Oklahoma State Pro Day workout that features quarterback Brandon Weeden.

The Broncos have the No. 25 pick in the draft, plus the 25th selection in the second round. Weeden, who turns 29 in October, is considered the second-best passer to Luck in the draft and has been projected to go between the Broncos' top two picks.

Manning will turn 36 in two weeks.

actually in the back of my mind, Manning will never really be a Chief. I want him here for a couple of year to help us win and move forward but he's a mercenary.

Cap room, yes. But we essentially have all of our offensive weapons in place, while Denver has to go out and upgrade big time. So if the sticking point is to bring in all of Peyton's ex-buddies, Denver has more roster holes to fill in that sense...

Yesterday, with the FlightAware software, we were able to watch Pat Bowlen's airplane leave Miami, stop at Stillwater, then take off and land at Denver. We were able to track the actual flight. Plus, I was at work and could follow the actual FAA track data.

So, I thought I'd get all crafty and try to track Clark Hunt's plane. Tail number: N960KC. Got the following response when I entered the tail number in the FlightAware site: "This aircraft (N960KC) is not available for public tracking per request from the owner/operator."

Does that surprise anyone? Nope, didn't think so.

If only I were at work so I could see the FAA data...

I look at the Stanford Routt situation, he stayed with us a couple of days, then left for another visit, but in the end signed with us because he liked the fit.

Same thing could happen here. He goes for some more visits, tells Condon which one is the right fit, and they work out a contract. I'm sure right now the parameters of a deal are being discussed with any party that Manning has a mutual interest in. At the end of the day though, he'll tell Condon who to get it done with...

I was in Denver recently, and damn, how the hell does KC have the mullet reputation it has when we are so close to Denver? I saw so many hillbillies with mullets and missing teeth in Denver I thought Burt Reynolds was going to pop out of a bush with a crossbow.

other than right tackle we are relatively set

Manning likes double tightends so adding Dallas Clark could work
We have a youngling at center so add Jeff Saturday could work
we need another RB to go with Charles so adding Addai could work
we also need a nose tackle

we can afford to do all these things AND sign Manning

not many teams can say the same
