HBO greenlights A Game of Thrones pilot! (spoilers)
EDIT: Changed the original header to mark this as the thread where spoilers are allowed (but not necessarily recommended...). Created a new, spoiler-free thread for Ice and Fire virgins...
This is awesome... Huge, Huge News Nov. 11th, 2008 at 10:29 PM HBO has given the production order. They will be filming the pilot episode of A GAME OF THRONES. It's just the pilot so far. They'll need to see that before they decide whether to proceed with a full season's episodes. So let's all hope the pilot will kick serious ass. It should. David Benioff and Dan Weiss did a terrific job with the script. And yes, all of you can relax, it's very faithful. Dan and David will be the executive producers for the pilot and (we hope) the eventual series. More details when I have 'em. The news is very fresh. HBO just issued their own press release, which should be up on their website soon, if it's not there already. Winter is coming to HBO. Hot damn. Last edited by keg in kc; 04-25-2011 at 03:58 PM.. |

Definitely a Stark.
Could see being a Targaryen [great vengeance and furious anger, as Jules would say], maybe even a Greyjoy if you love the sea, but WHO THE **** would be a Lannister? Even Tyrion wearies of it And without Robert, the Baratheons leave me cold.

Those were pretty cool!
I agree, how could anyone be in the Lannister house? It would be like picking Slytherin House in Harry Potter. I love the actress playing Dany, she's doing a hell of a job breathing life into that character. And, well, she's ****ing hot! I kind of hope they move a little of book 3 Dany into season 2 because she truly kicks some ass in book 3 and I'm looking forward to seeing it on the show. I also like the guy playing Rob Stark. He's not a character I ever grew overly fond of in the books, but he is one of my favorites on the show. Funny how that works. It was like that with Khal Drogo for me too. Didn't think much of him in the books, but on the show he was awesome. Too bad Drogo had to die! Last edited by Hawk; 03-22-2012 at 11:32 AM.. |

I felt like Robb Stark was miscast a little at first, but I grew to like him. He did a great job portraying Robb in season 1 so kudos to him.

Stark. No doubt about it. Targaryen, perhaps.

I still didn't like him in Dance with Dragons. The only character that GRRM has really redeemed in my eyes is Jaime. I can't wait to get back to whatever it is that he's doing.

Ehh you have people that have just seen the show and not read the books. Why ruin future plot twists for them?

I assume that means spoilers up through the current place where the show is which is just the end of book 1. I try to spoiler tag anything having to do with later books because I don't want to ruin any surprises for people, plus its easy to click the spoilers if you want to read them.

Doh! Now I see it. Thanks for pointing out my error. Ironically now my post is the one that may be a spoiler.
