All I said is that McCarron needs to continue to learn how to actually play quarterback. He was all tools, no understanding for much of last season. Watching his games will back that up. He played below average for more than half of the season, and that's with a zillion defenders in the box attempting to shut down Richardson and Lacy.
Lots of QBs with NFL tools get taken in the 2nd-4th rounds. They do so because their tape sucks.
What's encouraging is that he was trending upward. His best games last season were his last two: at Auburn and vs LSU in the BCS title game.

I think you are a little harsh on McCarron. Think about this: he only gets to throw when that running game isn't rolling like clockwork and he hardly ever gets to develop a rhythm. Just my take, but those are two bad circumstances under which to be expected to perform against SEC competition.
