They at least score when they get to the Redzone. With Orton, I EXPECTED a FG.

A running game featuring Charles and Hillis may help the RZ game more than the backfield of Jones and Battle.
For some silly reason I think that would have an impact. Orton still sucks in the RZ though, but I don't doubt at all he was better than Cassel. Not good enough, but better. Cassel is an awful 3rd down QB... and that's just crippling to an offense. |

Now this is not about Orton anymore... he is gone. This is about Cassel, Quinn, and Stanzi. And further, can either Quinn or Stanzi do for this offense what Orton did... and maybe even offer up a little bit more. |

Yet you argue for him as though you have a clue? You seriously know nothing of Orton. Your ABC homerism is out of control, you need help. Seriously, you can pick another horse, I recommend Stanzi, he'll make you look smart later. Give up on Orton, it's reeruned.

I am also willing to bet another one of those 3 years was 2010 when Cassel was blessed with the number 1 ranked rushing game ( And still only managed to provide us with the 3rd worst ranked passing offense despite all the teams stacking the box against the rush ), a decent defense and of course the magic ingredient to any appearance of Cassel standing over another QB in the easy schedule. That stat is really just too broad to be thrown around. What were the surrounding casts of each player in that year? How many of the 3rd down conversions were by run or pass? How many 3rd down attempts were there ( Is Orton possibly doing more on 1st and 2nd down to help prevent his team even reaching 3rd downs? ), what defenses were these 3rd down attempts against? |
