Teaford earned another start following his first win on Monday as he tries to secure a permanent spot in the rotation. This will be his fourth start. In two stays at Triple-A Omaha this year, he was 4-0 with a 1.09 ERA in seven games.

Max Scherzer, RHP
7-5, 4.98 ERA
Scherzer has rounded into his 2010 form over his last three starts, allowing five runs on 14 hits over 20 innings with three walks and 26 strikeouts. He fanned nine Twins over 5 1/3 innings in a victory at Target Field on May 26.

Today is also the Futures Game, on ESPN2 at 4pm. Royals have three players there: Will Myers, Jake Odorizzi, and Yordano Ventura.

What a complete bitch of an away series this has been. Let's end this half on a good note, and avoid the sweep from the Tigers.

I don't know if the team has "collapsed" or not, but 10 games under at the break means that the club is, once again, a complete piece of shit.

The talent is there to turn things around offensively, but this isn't the case with the pitching staff, and Moore deserves as much criticism for the latter as he deserves praise for the former.

I would try to sign Hosmer to a longer deal in the off season, like we did with Perez. If Boras won't agree to a deal, trade Hos for starting pitching. We can find a first baseman easier than a starter. Sign Hos while his chips are down and that shows him we have faith in him. If he won't sign, that means he doesn't want to be here anyway.

This. If they were going to "mail it in", they would have done so after the 12 game losing streak.

They have heart. They are just battling a weak starting pitching rotation, injuries, inconsistent play due to youth and flat out inexperience in terms of being a winning franchise. So long as they do not lose their heart and desire (and the club gets some decent pitching) they can work through all of this in the course of the next couple of years.

Give me a break... that isn't "the way the games have gone for Detroit this series". They are winning because they are a better team with better players at every position easily.

Bagwell was a freaking stud from year one to the time he retired, and his last year was the only one when his OPS+ was below 116.

Hosmer is no Jeff Bagwell.

Bagwell struggled in the first half of the year and turned it on in September to save his year.

Hos's OPS+ is around 85ish, so he would need to go pretty crazy to get to Bagwell levels. If he does, that will be ****ing incredible for the potential long-term health of the club.
