Johnson is scheduled to earn close to $130 million over the next eight seasons, including $113.5 million over the final seven years of the deal, league sources told NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora.

The contract includes $4.5 million in an existing roster bonus that's due on the final year of his rookie deal.


The deal also includes $53 million in guaranteed money, with Johnson's $1.25 million base salary in 2012 guaranteed, and $36 million due in signing and option bonuses. According to La Canfora, $11.5 million in future salary is guaranteed for injury only.

The contract makes Johnson -- who scorched the NFL with 96 catches for 1,681 yards and 16 touchdowns in 2011 -- the highest-paid wide receiver in league history, surpassing the eight-year, $120 million deal that Larry Fitzgerald signed with the Arizona Cardinals before last season.

It's way too early to tell something like that and, if that had been the thought process, they likely would have gone after someone as a replacement, so it's really a question that demands either an artificial environment or a Bowe holdout.

DJ was trash
So was Dorsey, who was 40 pounds overweight and was looking like a total bust
Hali was average and seemed topped out
Carr and Flowers showed promise
Bowe was either ice cold or on fire and couldn't beat press

The people were here, but they became players under the system instituted by Scott.

All but the corners and Bowe were borderline lost causes.

Am I the only one that remembers how truly bad we were in 2008?

I'm not saying he had nothing to do with the turn around, but there were waayyy too many factors to give that type of credit to the GM.

The main factor being simple player development. Players get better in their primes. And if anything, credit is due to the coaches. (Scott did hire the coaches)

Still doesn't change the FACTS

KC has been a very bad team for most of his regime. And Scott Pioli has some very bad blemishes as GM of the Kansas City Chiefs

Now, he is one of the best defensive players in the league.

Facts are facts and Pioli changed us to a 3-4 the moment he signed on the dotted line.

JFC just look who we took 3rd overall and waited all offseason for as dc (even though Romeo decided to take the year off and we ended up naming Clancy the dc for a year to wait for RAC.)

I don't think Scott Pioli knew shit about Todd Haley, and that's why he fired him in the end.

It wasn't some inspired hire. It was just Scott being Scott and deferring to the Patriot Way.
