I'm really surprised Stanzi doesn't throw a lot of picks in practice.

He made some careless throws at Iowa that I kinda of just expect to happen in practice for us.

Not sure if they aren't happening (indicating his improvement curve in regards to decision making since his first year at Iowa) or ghat they just aren't getting reported.

Watching the preseason game Vs the ravens last year where stanzi was getting nano'ed. play calling atrocious, even for preseason standards. Tight sets vs zone. I think Pittsburgh sinks hard this year

Preseason play selection is usually shitty.

To be fair, Cassel probably won't make it an issue... but at this point everyone is seeing what they want to see anyway. If Cassel did outplay Stanzi, no one would possibly admit it. Everyone is pretty much too far gone to be objective around the board. Of course you can question how productive it is to be overanalyzing anything the first week, but that's another discussion.

That's the thing though. Cassel has looked ok in training camp and looks way worse on the actual field. I think that's one reason why the coaches are still hung up on him, he looks ok everywhere but on the field. Palko who looked like dogshit stuffed in a Chiefs uniform, looked more poised and in control of the offense on the actual field.

The only time Cassel has looked like he does in camp/practice is in the two minute offense when he doesn't have time to think. Cassel needs an OC who will tell him exactly what to do, even his reads, and even then, I don't think they'll get past 2.

You guys do know that head coaches actually call each other the day before preseason games to discuss each others strategies and what they want out of the game, don't ya?

The only one they don't do so with iirc is game 3.

They do that so the coaches can see how their players handle certain situations.

Preseason games are kind of like wwe wrestling.

I think Palko is a TON smarter than Cassel.

Unfortunately, just like Cassel, he lacks ANY physical capabilities to execute.
