Depends on what you expect from a "very good" player. But I would say 3* aren't expected to show much until they are upper classmen whereas a 4 or 5 should contribute right away.

Would you call that "very good?" I wouldn't necessarily, but I'm sure it does happen. Markieff Morris I think was a 3 star and he was a beast by his junior year. He was a lottery pick and also started a bit his rookie season in the NBA. I'd call that very good.

Not often but a few that come to mind recently are Derrick Williams, Alec Burks, Doug McDermott, Aaron Craft, Jacob Pullen

The Morris twins were both 4* Rivals top 50 players if remember correctly

Those guys were good mainly because of lottery picks in the post helped open up their game. Could you win with a team of Morningstars and Reeds? I guess that's a better question.

My mistake. Scout has them both as 4's also. I could have sworn that Markieff was a bit of an afterthought in the rankings whereas Marcus was the better target.

It seems like they were big time prospects who got downgraded because of off the court issues IIRC.

I think they reclassified back a year maybe? I know we had to wait a while to see if they would qualify academically too.

He's always able to spin away to a better situation too. The first time he took off for the NBA and the second time to UK. Is that luck, or is he just that good at slithering?

Now I don't think he's downright cheating at UK, why would he need to? But what he does is so unconventional and seems to skirt the written and unwritten rules to a point that it looks suspicious.

The thing that pisses me off about him is that he puts on airs like he's this holier than though innocent. If he would drop that act, personally I would only dislike him because he's so much better than everyone else at recruiting.
