Brady Quinn getting half the first team reps
I am surprised this hasn't been posted yet, but according to the radio on 610 this morning, (Bill Maas and Fescoe) Quinn has been getting about 50% of the first team reps in practice this week.

In the short term this is certainly a good thing because Quinn certainly can't be worse than what Cassel has been so far. But I wonder, what if he starts and does decent? Decent enough to warrant not drafting a first round QB next year. I really want the team to win but I want it to be like last week against the Saints every week where we win in spite of the QB, not because of him or with him really contributing. If Quinn does decent will that preclude them from going hard after a QB next season? (If they ever were going to at all).

*EDIT* I found the podcasts where they talk about this. It starts at about 15:10.

Fescoe asks him how RAC feels about Cassel and so they talk about it. At around 15:10 when they talk about it Maas say, "They are keeping their options open...," then he goes on to elaborate around 15:45,

Not necessarily an optimist about Quinn, but I'm not sure how a franchise can continue to trot out a QB who, literally, puts his teammates in danger because of his inaccuracy.

If Quinn does get in, I hope they stick with him even if he struggles at first instead of playing QB hokey-pokey like the coaches in Cleveland did.

Evidently the coaching staff watched the same game as we did -- truly a brutally bad performance by Cassel. I actually thought Crennel would give Pioli the finger and pull Cassel at halftime.

WoW just got home from work and I'm trying to find out how much of this is just you guys jumping to conclusions and how much is this the coaches telling Cassel to get your shit together or your done.

If they sit Cassel and put Quinn in at Arrowhead not only will the crowd go nuts but it would more than likely mark the end of Cassel no matter how Quinn does imo.

Its one thing to do it on the road but at home its a huge statement to the public saying "We Know Cassels not the answer!"
