Brady Quinn getting half the first team reps
I am surprised this hasn't been posted yet, but according to the radio on 610 this morning, (Bill Maas and Fescoe) Quinn has been getting about 50% of the first team reps in practice this week.

In the short term this is certainly a good thing because Quinn certainly can't be worse than what Cassel has been so far. But I wonder, what if he starts and does decent? Decent enough to warrant not drafting a first round QB next year. I really want the team to win but I want it to be like last week against the Saints every week where we win in spite of the QB, not because of him or with him really contributing. If Quinn does decent will that preclude them from going hard after a QB next season? (If they ever were going to at all).

*EDIT* I found the podcasts where they talk about this. It starts at about 15:10.

Fescoe asks him how RAC feels about Cassel and so they talk about it. At around 15:10 when they talk about it Maas say, "They are keeping their options open...," then he goes on to elaborate around 15:45,

I get being excited at the possibility of change, but unfortunately 'not Cassel' does not automatically mean 'not shit', and the probability is that if there is a change, a month from now we'll all be bitching about how much Quinn sucks. We need improvement, not just changing the name on the back of the jersey for the sake of change.

I will be pulling for Quinn because he does have some potential that could possibly be realized, but I am fully expecting a shitfest.

Fortunately for us as Chiefs fans, that will lead to us getting to see Stanzi starts a handful of games and that we will almost assuredly get to see our team FINALLY draft a first round quarterback.
