walnuts
So I've got probably 10 walnut trees in and around my house. They drop all freakin over the place. Each year, I pay my kids $2 per 5 gallon bucket of walnuts they pick up and then just dump them in a pile in the woods for the squirrels. Anyone have any ingenious way to de husk them without doing it by hand? If there were an easier way to do it, I might consider processing them. thanks

I've seen a few corn shellers on ebay that the seller says will take the husk off of walnuts, but didn't know if that was really that effective or not and don't want to spend the money if its not really for that purpose and doesn't work real well.

I don't know of anyone that's tried a corn sheller. It doesn't seem like it would be "enough" for the shells of a walnut though.
