I don't think Jobs had typical pancreatic cancer. As the Harvard Cancer Expert was probably referring to when he called it "a mild form of cancer that is not usually fatal".

I wasn't aware that he had access to Jobs' medical records. Oh, that must be because he doesn't, and says as much. His only sources are what's been reported in the media.

Jobs' diagnosis was reported in the media for years before he died. If for some reason the reports were wrong, and he chose to let the falsehood spread, then you should really stop disrespecting him by not honoring his dying wish.

He didn't have the same disease that most people who die from pancreatic cancer have.

That's my understanding as well. Although I really don't know and it's seems pretty pointless to speculate on his medical care and choices regarding it. Those are entirely his choices and I see no good in even discussing it.

I'm just trying to combat the unreasonable seething hatred. Posting this wasn't an attempt at educating people about the foolishness of alternative medicine in the face of science. It was about deriding a dead guy.

I don't have access to his medical records, so I don't think that presuming we know anything about the way he handled it is the way to go.

Yes. It's almost always crueler if you delay the best treatment in favor of the wrong one or wishful thinking though.

I didn't read this as as much of a hit piece on Jobs as you did. If it was, it's in poor taste. There's no reference guide available to tell newly diagnosed cancer patient what their best course of action is with any certainty. I have no problem with Jobs making the decision he thought was best. It's a shame that it didn't work out for him.

Given the tone of every other post you make regarding Apple, I just don't buy that.

I own more Microsoft products and use Google more than I do Apple products. I just don't have an irrational hatred of Apple like you and AC do. I try to be even-keeled about it, but you guys hat Apple so much that it makes a moderate position look glowing in comparison.
