Rumor has it, ( via Soren Petro ) that Scott ***** has signed an extension.

QB or no QB, he's still an asshole that's alienated every fan this team has, has burned bridges with key players and has routinely failed to supplement the talent that he inherited upon taking over this team (Houston being a notable exception).

He's a ****ing lousy general manager. He's done nothing to earn an extension.

I don't see how anyone could be okay with this, even if he does trade up and draft Geno Smith. You're still going to get the cloak and dagger bullshit. You're still going to get the GM that keeps his players quiet...unless they're excoriating the fans. You're still going to get this same arrogant one who sucks the penis that has made this franchise painfully difficult to follow.

If this is true, it sucks beyond all belief.

There is at least a slight silver lining here - he'll never be successful. Ever.

If he were to leave after 2012 and sit out a year, perhaps he would end up coming back up for jobs with NE or some other dumbass 'tree' team that has a young QB in place or perhaps some other decent toys for him to play with.

By some miracle, he could actually succeed and we'd have a nice shit-sandwich to eat.

Here we know he's not going to succeed. He's been given enough rope to hang himself and the players that have kept him from looking like a complete fraud (Charles, Hali, Bowe, DJ and others) are only going to get older. With his sterling track record, we're only going to fall deeper into the abyss.
