Glad you asked. I posted this checklist earlier. It probably belongs in the thread header, and will be updated as the Chiefs close out their season and start a new chapter in their franchise story.

Preparing for Geno Smith's Arrival In KC Checklist

1. [X] Lose games and acquire the #1 overall pick
2. [X] Get ***** and the Patriot Way cronies the **** out
3. [X] Hire new GM/coach

OPTIONAL (but highly recommended):
4. [ ] Re-sign/tag Bowe, who really wants to play in KC with Geno
5. [ ] Re-sign/tag Albert

Honest question as I live in Florida and haven't seen but 1 or 2 of Geno's games and a bunch of online video of him: Does it seem that Geno quite often stares down his #1 option?

My biggest concern with Geno is how well he will be able to read an nfl defense from under center and dropping back vs. always primarily being in spread shotgun formation.

He doesn't have to start down his #1 option because his #1 option is usually open.

That's pretty common in college football nowadays.

To play Devil's advocate let's say we take Geno no 1 and he busts out big. Huge fail.

I'm fine with that.

Because we have, for the first time in the history of this franchise, discovered what it takes to win a SB and put an emphasis on finding one...

I've made it clear that Geno is not #1 on my list in this draft...but the reality is that it will probably come down to him or Barkley and I want abso****inlutely NO pary of Barkley. Geno is high risk - high reward and I would rather take a gamble on that in hopes to hit on an elite-level QB rather than playing it safe and drafting a game manager that MIGHT win a playoff game in his career...tops.
