Kid did a cannonball and for the life of me I can't get this ear to clear. I am open to suggestions.

rubbing alcohol will dry it out but probably make your ear a little sore.

Don't use hydrogen peroxide. It breaks down into WATER. And don't use straight rubbing alcohol unless you want to cause some SERIOUS burning.

Use a swimmer's ear preparation that contains diluted alcohol and glycerin. It will dry it up very fast.

Point the clogged ear towards the ground, hit the portion of your head that now faces up with a good solid thump until water releases. Caution do not use hammers or any other striking instrument, also avoid contact with the temple area.

I freaked out the first time I did that (not due to swimmer's ear). That kind of reaction shouldn't take place inside someone's ear.

Peroxide, and you will most likely have to suffer a few days. I've tried holding my nose and doing the equilibrium balance deal... shit don't work if the water is in there deep.
