Chiefs Chiefs' Player Jevon Belcher involved in murder-suicide, shoots self at Arrowhead - Page 147

An unnamed Kansas City Chiefs player has committed suicide at the team facility and authorities are on the scene, the police confirmed to ESPN on Saturday morning.

Local reports say police are operating with the belief the player fatally shot his girlfriend at a house before driving to Arrowhead Stadium and killing himself at around 8 a.m local time. The Associated Press reported the player's age to be 25.

"We can confirm that there was an incident at Arrowhead earlier this morning," the Chiefs said in a statement. "We are cooperating with authorities in their investigation."

There were no other injuries at the team facility, police said.

The Chiefs (1-10) were preparing to host the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

The NFL has told the Panthers to travel as planned to Kansas City on Saturday, the Charlotte Observer has reported, citing interim general manager Brandon Beane.

I understand losing a teammate sucks, and although the majority of the team probably thought very highly of him, it doesn't mean what he did deserves any kind of recognition. Some of these guys like Bowe need to use some common sense and understand what he did was the worst thing a person could do in life.

Despite the fact that he and DJ, or he and Jackson were friends, they all need to realize Belcher was scum for what he did. And any condolences should be going towards Perkins' family, and the baby.

It's possible that Bowe isn't that smart. Football players (of any variety) are probably not the people I would choose to best deal with complicated emotional situations in public.

I have read so many different points of view on this, but so many of them just piss me off. Read a great article on Rant Sports today about this that refused to even acknowledge the suicide part of the story. Thought that was appropriate.

I think we've all lost friends that are less than perfect, some did some pretty dick things in their life. It's unreasonable to judge somebody for how they choose to grieve for their friends. If that's what he needs to do to move on, then so be it.

Not what I would wear. But again, Bowe is wearing a shirt in what looks to be his own home not in the locker room and then put it on his personal Twitter. Stupid perhaps but in no way do I see this as sanctioned by the team.

Is it appropriate? I don't think so but then it's his expression on his own time. Nothing the team or the league can or should do about it, IMO.

Killing someone isn't a "dick" thing. It's the worst thing a person can do in humanity. Especially when you had a 3 month old baby.
