Herm took a grenade for peterson's abortion moves at qb and years of botched drafts. I've said herm should have been fired eventually. But people want to claim he blew the team apart. Bullshit. His bold move to blow up the team was a terrific and necessary move. Haley, on the other hand.... He was blamed for not winning with bad personnel he lobbied against but was vetoed by an arrogant gm who only knew one way. Its only fAir to ask how he would have done if he had a shred of say, including the shitty qb he didn't want to play. |

Big Ben prior to injury was having a career year. I really don't care if he doesn't get production out of third string running backs and offensive linemen. I can assure you if he gets a second year with a healthy cast, the steelers offense will do well.

The offensive line is banged up. Big Ben has missed a few games. The rbs are banged up, have played a backup all year. And had to use Ike redman for a stretch?. And the defense that normally wins games for the steelers is an abortion.
But by all means. This year is Haley's fault. |

No, I'm pointing out the typical over reactionary nature of cp. That because the steelers aren't winning, that means Haley is a terrible coordinator. They arent winning because the #1 points defense has slipped to #8 and has been downright miserable in most of their losses and the defense that used to force 30-40 turnovers a year is now on pace to force half of that. Throw in the mike Wallace holdout and the fact that injury has forced three scrubs to start at o line all season long and they have been downright horrible. And that big Ben Missed three games and wasn't 100% in his return.
But by all means... Blame Haley. The problems in Pittsburgh are mostly about horrible oline play from third string talent, horrible rb play from third string talent contributing to a 24th ranked run offense, a massive decline in defense that is giving up more points and creating half the turnovers. But yeah... It's convenient here to blame the new guy. I'm not saying Haley has been perfect. But shit is literally exploded around him in areas he is not responsible for. |

Oh, is this the part where we pretend bad offensive line play is a new thing for the Steelers? Haley was a downgrade from Bruce Arians.

In spite of the major talent issues, people laughingly point to their 20th ranked offense as if the Steelers fell off the clip. They were the 21st ranked offense last year. Before injury, Big Ben was on pace to have a career season in yards, TDs, and in least amount of sacks and INTs. The biggest problems in Pittsburgh are injuries, a defense that is rapidly slipping and is only the SECOND time in 6 years they will not be ranked in the top 5 in points defense, and a defense that is forcing HALF as many turnovers as they have in years prior. It's ridiculous to say Haley is anywhere near being on the list of top reasons the Steelers are not runaway playoff players. |

Back to the point, I'm still driving this bus.
Flame away on me, but Cowher will bring the 90's back and bring with it the ability to win in the playoffs and a franchise SB winning QB, whose name rimes with Beno. Lets do this. |

I'm weary of Cowher.
If I recall, his SB win was carried by the defense.....I 'think'. not 100% sure. Oh...and officiating.
