Think Phil and Bowers will feel obligated to throw THIS game for Suitcase Mike? They already tanked the game in Fayetteville for him.

Phil will do whatever the bookies tell him to do.

So here's the question....will everyone be happy just to win, or will everyone want a blowout?

I'd take a nice 10-15 point win. I don't think my gut can take another game like the one in fayetteville.

I don't think a blowout proves much of anything other than both of our schools play well at home and horribly on the road. I'm not saying that you all didn't get screwed in Fayetteville, but a blowout doesn't really prove that.

I think the line of 10 is pretty freaking low. Mizzou should kill us. You all have far superior talent and are at home. Arkansas plays horribly on the road and isn't really very good unless everything completely falls into place for them (which it really hasn't much this year).

When they go OVER screens and actually try, other teams don't make crazy amounts of shots. It's comical, at times, watching Pressey just give up on fighting through a screen.
I've pounded this drum over and over, but it needs to be restated as often as possible. Our biggest issues with perimeter defense stem from the laziness of Brown and Pressey on that side of the ball. They are apathetic defenders.

To be honest, I think that Haith should consider moving Brown to the bench, as he's been a replacement-level player over the last month. He kills us on both sides of the ball with awful shot selection and half-assed effort. Ross is a passive offensive player, which is moronic given his build, but passiveness is better than foolishness.

I think they've found a pretty good rotation at this point and would be hesitant to adjust it. Ross especially has embraced that role.

Brown's play has slipped of late, but I don't mind seeing them stick to the current roles and sliding Brown to the bench the first time it's necessary. Haith has been quicker to pull him the past few games, it seems like. Teams also respect his outside shooting, even if he hasn't been shooting a great percentage.

Ross has shown some nice flashes taking it to the rim of late. He still is a good bet to pick up at least one charge a game, but I like what we've seen recently of him getting to the rim and finishing through contact.

I agree that we really shouldn't mess with the rotation too much, but I do hate me some Brown.

I like Ross off the bench. He brings an energy similar to what Dixon brought last year. He's not to the level of Dixon, but he's pretty good in that role.

Over the past month, Brown has averaged 1.55 points per shot attempt. If that's not great, it's pretty good. It certainly isn't killing us. We've crept into the top 10 in the country in terms of offensive efficiency, and we average 1.28 points per shot attempt as a team. He's actually a lot better over the past month than he was previous to then.

His defense has been poor, but our entire defensive philosophy is poor. Ross is an average defender, but he averages 1.23 points per shot on the season which is a significant dropoff from Jabari. The improvement on defense would be minimal, but the dropoff on offense would be fairly substantial.

I get it. The defensive problems are maddening, because the guy flashes the ability and effort to be a solid defender.

I also think he's a critical component... teams run to him at the 3-point line like they just won't for Ross or Bell or NWC. That's why he's good for a couple of backdoor plays a game.

Brown's stats over the last month have been significantly boosted by two games against horrendous competition.

Look at how he's played in our conference games against the decent-good opponents:

@Fla 5-18
@Miss 4-13
Miss 5-11
@Ark 2-10
Fla 3-10
@UK 2-6
LSU 2-5
@LSU 5-13

Also, putting Brown in the six hole isn't all that unusual. A ton of teams use that spot for a guy who can carry a second unit offensively.

It's quite rare for teams to start their top five scorers.
