They landed probably one of the best Defensemen on the market last season due to wanting to play there(Garrison). The Sedins, Kesler, Luongo, etc. all have signed extensions there. It's not like players are looking to escape Vancouver.

When I think of a franchise I think of them in the long-term view. Recently they have played the favorite(although even in this lens they still have failed to get it done), but long-term they have been an underdog. Depends on how you look at it. I view them and say "poor Vancouver has yet to get it done."
