I don't think anyone will give a 1st for Albert so if that's what we ask for then we're keeping Albert. I'd just as soon move on now. I've posted it more then once but Miami has two 3rd round picks. #77 and #82. #54 + either one of those picks would be fine by me. We need to get it done before the 2nd round starts though in case we want to try and trade up for a player/QB. And we'll have plenty of ammo to trade if we make that deal.

That's why I think Albert is still going to be gone. You don't draft a RT at 1.1

Everyone keeps saying this like playing RT for a year means you drafted a RT.
All the Geno fans were on board with drafting him and sitting him for a year or so. Does that mean I could rant about how the Chiefs wasted 1.1 on a backup QB? |

A lot of teams need a LT.

I guess the packers drafted a backup QB when they took rodgers

I think this is the option I would be checking out to see if there is any interest. Stafford has taken a beating early in his career, and I would have to think Albert would be a better fit at LT than anything available at this point in the draft.

Signing Albert to a long term deal means that our O-line is set for the next six years--not only set, but will probably be the best O-line in the league. With most of our pro-bowlers hitting their prime now, that is a long time to make significant runs at the Super Bowl.
Keep Albert, draft Bostic (unless by some strange stroke of luck Cyprien is still there) with the 3.a and just keep loading up year after year after year. We have the foundations for a dynasty in place--lets take advantage of it. Last edited by Fat Elvis; 04-26-2013 at 09:07 AM.. |

They have to do what is best for the Chiefs! A 2nd rd pick this year getting his salary off the books or keeping the $9.8 on and a 3rd comp (late) next year? If BA is staying long term fine, but I doubt they drafted Fisher to play RT forever.

Or hold onto him until the first injury of a LT during training camp(s). The Chiefs might have more leverage at that time, although the pick would be in next years draft.

Consider what team we are talking about here. Quite possibly the most cursed team in the history of the NFL.
