Oh FFS Chen could have easily given you 5 innings after all those days off. Again, it wouldn't have mattered tonight because the whole team sucked ***, but to pretend that Chen couldn't have went 5 is just stupid.

I'm fine with starting Will Smith. Mendoza was not an option. If my alternative is Chen, and Will Smith is rocking and rolling in Omaha, then I give the kid a shot.

As it turned out, looks like Smith still needs to work on some stuff.

Like I said, in the end it really didn't matter. Neither choice would have got us a win. It was just a personal preference.

Or instead of using a guy who will NEVER be a starting pitcher again, you give one of your "better" minor leaguers a chance to get experience against one of the worst teams.

I'm just conditioned to not want to see any minor league starters come up from this organization because of how bad of a job they've done developing them the last decade +.
